On June 23rd, Keliese Christopher attended the Northwestern Elite Camp. Christopher is guard/wing at East Kentwood High School. The rising star in the class of 2021 plays AAU basketball for the Michigan Drive.
Keliese ChristopherChristopher not only put on a show, but improved and prepared herself as a player. She appreciated the opportunity to meet new people and expand her basketball network. Christopher also enjoyed seeing the Northwestern campus. She is an exceptional student (carries a 4.0 GPA), and the Northwestern Elite Camp did a nice job of stressing academics as much as basketball. Christopher liked the personal feel of the camp. Coach McKeown made sure to speak with her and her parents after the camp. He shared some tips and advice that Christopher could take back with her and use to continue her improvement.
The Northwestern Elite Camp provided Keliese Christopher with a platform to show off her skills. She demonstrated her strong defense, scoring, and rebounding. Christopher walked away feeling like she improved defensively and in her ability to attack the basket. Her favorite activity at the Northwestern Elite Camp was the shell drill that stressed talking on defense. Christopher takes pride in her defense and liked working on being more vocal on that end of the floor. She also liked the drills that taught different ways to create space and worked on moving without the ball. The Northwestern Elite Camp gave Keliese Christopher a chance to increase her confidence in her game. The opportunity to play and excel against elite basketball players from around the country reminded her of how well she stacks up.
Keliese Christopher had a great showing at the Northwestern Elite Camp. She will be a player to watch over the rest of the summer and leading into next high school season.
