Long has an impressive basketball skill set. She has the ability to score from anywhere on the court. Long is an excellent shooter who seems to always find a way to get an open look at the rim. She’s a consistent player who makes an impact in every game. Long has a high basketball IQ, playing a relatively mistake free game.
Alex Long is constantly striving to improve as a player. She is currently working on moving without the ball and getting into better scoring position when being face guarded. Long has been attending open gyms with her school team twice a week and has played 40+ games with the Michigan Cagers. She has been playing against high level competition which has helped her game grow. Long is looking forward to high school season and is excited to show her skills.
Long could have a bright future in basketball, both in high school and beyond. She can bring a leader on and off the court to a college team. Long has a skill set that should transfer well to the next level. There are Division 2 and NAIA schools that have shown interest in her game and growth as a player.
Alex Long is motivated for success. She wants to earn a scholarship to play college basketball. Long also wants to graduate from high school with at least a 4.0GPA. She is motivated by people who have proven to be in her corner. “Coach Billy Selvia is my biggest motivation because he’s always giving me pep talks when I am not on my game and we always get good results,” said Long.
