Leah Lappin is one of the 2022 prospects that coaches and fans should be excited about. She is a 5’9” forward/wing. Lappin will attend Hartland High School and plays grassroots basketball for Legacy 2021/2022.
Lappin is a very skilled young player. She is a very fast athlete. Lappin uses her speed defensively to close passing lanes and stay in front of her opponent. When her team played at AAU nationals, Lappin held two high scoring elite post players to just four points. Her stellar defense helped her team to a win and a top 8 Division 1 finish. Offensively, her speed allows her to be fast in transition. Lappin is an excellent passer. She is efficient and accurate when delivering the ball to a teammate.
Legacy 2021/2022Lappin is an experienced player who continues to improve. She is working hard to improve her ball handling skills. Lappin is also focused on improving ALL aspects of her game in order to be a complete player. She currently works out 3 days a week at the high school, trains, and plays AAU basketball. She is excited for her first year in high school basketball. Lappin sees high school basketball as an opportunity to play with older girls and new people. She recognizes that high school season will be a valuable time to improve her game.
Leah Lappin brings a lot to the table for any team. In addition to her strong skill set, she could someday provide a college coach with a player who is known for her hard work and intensity. Lappin would like to play college basketball when the time arises. She looks up to a former Hartland High School player that she grew up watching, Lexy Tobel, who now plays for Detroit Mercy. Lappin’s Mom is a key source of motivation. “She’s always at my games and tells me how hard I have to work and how it can get me to college. She motivates me to do my best,” said Lappin. Leah Lappin is a prospect in the class of 2022 that fans and coaches should watch develop as a player.
