5 Key Things We Learned About Woodbridge
Woodbridge are eyeing a Virginia state championship run and junior Aaliyah Pitts will be a key component in the quest. The six footer has a great body for college and is very versatile able to play both on the inside and out and will typically have a mismatch with one or both. She is a good rebounder and finishes well at the rim.
Olivia BrooksThe Vikings have great size with four player six foot or better, one of the bigs inside is 6’3″ freshman Olivia Brooks. Brooks has a massive frame and is really strong, when she gets position set in the low block she is nearly imposible to move. She is agile with her size and runs the floor really well. She is a good finisher by the basket using a nice soft touch on her shot.
Tae’lor Willard runs the show for the Vikings, she is a point guard that can put up numbers in bunches. Fortunately, she doesn’t need to carry the scoring load as she has a lot of weapons at her disposal. The senior guard has the ability to stretch the floor with the three and her ball handling and vision is tight enough to elude the press.
Senior Camryn Platt-Morris does everything on the floor. The 5’8″ wing attacks the basket very well from the perimeter and can knock down the three. She dishes the ball like a point guard and rebounds very well also. Camryn gives the Vikings a good balance on the floor and defensively plays the passing lanes well.
Adaija BenderWoodbridge is really solid from top to bottom and sophomore Adaija Bender is a very impressive piece of the team. At 6’3″ Bender sprints the floor with the guards and many time is the first to get down court. Her presence in the lane is very disruptive as she uses her long arms to alter shots. She’s a good rebounder with the instinct to anticipate where the ball is coming off the rim and get to that spot. She finishes well off of the offensive board.
