The 5’9" combo guard is among the top talents in Michigan’s class of 2019. <strong>Dorn </strong>is prepared to lead her Riverview squad into the post season and also recently commited to Concordia. We caught up with <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="2474" first="Samantha" last="Dorn"] </strong>to talk about the rest of this season, her commitment to Concordia, and more.

What is the biggest strength of your game?
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="2474" first="Samantha" last="Dorn"]:</strong>
I feel like I’m a very diverse player, priding myself in shooting, getting to the basket, and using my length on defense. I would consider myself a combo guard.
Question:
What has been the highlight of your season so far?
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="2474" first="Samantha" last="Dorn"]:</strong>
The highlight of this season for me has been scoring 31 against Fordson and defeating our rival Grosse Ile.
Question:
What goals do you and your team have for the remainder of the season?
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="2474" first="Samantha" last="Dorn"]:</strong>
Winning our district is a goal that we set a while ago that’s right in our reach. We plan on taking the rest of the season one game at a time, and as we play the league teams the second time around, learning from the mistakes the first time we played them.

What was the recruiting process like for you?

The recruiting process was really fun and hectic. I enjoyed visiting a lot of different schools and meeting different coaches and people, which made it very difficult to make a decision.

You recently committed to Concordia. What seperated them from the rest?

I really enjoyed my time on their campus and being close to home was really important to me. All the people there are really awesome and I really like the coaching staff.
Question:
What part of college basketball are you looking forward to the most?
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="2474" first="Samantha" last="Dorn"]:</strong>
I’m looking forward to everything about college basketball! Being a three sport athlete in high school I’m really excited to just specialize on basketball all the time. I’m also looking forward to getting to know my new teammates and spending time with them.

Who is the toughest player that you’ve matched up with this season?

<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="2472" first="Rana" last="Elhusseini"]</strong> from Fordson. We actually played on the same AAU team and she’s good competition and fun to play against.

What professional player does your game remind you of?
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="2474" first="Samantha" last="Dorn"]:</strong>
Diana Taurasi, she shoots the ball well and can get to the rim, and plays very good defense.
