Marquette Catholic
At 17-2, Marquette Catholic seems to be the favorite, although it is probably closer than it appears. They played Easton Valley twice this year and won both times, but it was by two points and 12 points, respectively. Everyone else in the region they have beaten pretty soundly. They haven't played Lynnville-Sully and that matchup in the final could be one to watch. Junior Miranda Peters and senior Teona Richman lead the team with a balanced 13.9 and 13.5 points per game clip, respectively. Peters has taken 219 shots and Richman has taken 215 shots on the season.
The Sleepers
Lynnville-Sully
This is a 15-3 team who has pretty much ran through their schedule besides their two games against Montezuma. They are playing really well right now and have cranked up their scoring from the start of the season. This score 56.9 points a game which is second in the region. They have by far the easiest road to the finals. Senior Carson Fisk leads Lynnville-Sully with 16.9 points a game this year. Sophomore Krystal Van Dyke is averaging 12.8 points a game and 10.8 rebounds a game on the season.
Easton Valley
At 14-6, Easton Valley has played Marquette Catholic twice this season and has lost both times although they were in close games. This is a team that has the potential to knock them off but first have to get through Lynnville-Sully to do so. They have made 91 3-pointers this season which is the second most in the region. Senior Sadie Zaruba is scoring a ton of points this year as she is scoring points at a 19.1 points per game clip
The Outside Shot
Meskwaki Settlement School
Meskwaki is an interesting case because they are 10-7, but just don't get blown out. Their biggest loss was by just 14 points and they have three that have been by four points or less. It's a senior ladened team, which in the postseason can always be dangerous. This is a team that can beat you with many different players as they have three players within 11.9 to 10.6 points a game on the season.
