First match up the season between the two teams, Muldrow Lady Bulldogs and the Anadarko Lady Warriors, for the 2018-2019 season. Muldrow has reigned at #1 for the entire season with only one loss coming in post-season in the Area Game. Meanwhile Anadarko finished #4 in regular season and won all of their post-season games in order to get to the finals 1st Half Muldrow began the game out looking well with the first basket bring a layup right off the back by Chalynn Mayes to finish her shots as she normally does well. . The Lady Bulldogs continued to get transition options but Anadarko worked hard to limit their lay up opportunites with Anadarko having exceptionally defensive skills by being ready to take charges to eliminate players options. Having two teams that shoot well from the outside, it's easy for each team get back in the game or put the game away while making outside shots. Overall, the first quarter was full of transition game due to turnovers from both teams. Anadarko began to see contribution from more players other than Averi Zinn from Lexi Foreman. More times than not, if Lexi Foreman is left open, she is going to make the shot. She knocks down a 3-pointer to close the 4 point lead by Muldrow to only 1 to end the quarter 11-10. 2nd Half Anadarko closed the gap quick in order took a lead with more aggressiveness from Kimberely Stephens to knock down the 3-point shot to take the lead early in the 2nd quarter. Defensive pressure from Anadarko early in the quarter created turnovers for the Lady Bulldogs but Anadarko felt Muldrow's presence as well because the Lady Bulldogs came up with steals to give them their favorite part of the game, transition. Nonetheless, Anadarko has a great ability of moving the ball to get an open shots and find Averi Zinn to hit 3 pointers to further their lead gap against Muldrow to the end the half up by 4 points. To begin the second half, Muldrow begins to make a comeback with their players doing what they do best...Hannah Boyett finally connects a 3 pointer and soon after Taylen Collins finished her lay ups while Hannah Boyett hits another 3 to take the lead in the 3rd but a Anadarko being such a force from the perimeters well, finds Averi Zinn to knock down a 3 to tie the game. Trading baskets at the end of the quarter...Anadarko continued to make 3 pointers and Muldrow continued to attack in transition finishing lay ups and making their free throws for Muldrow to the tie the game ending the 3rd Quarter 35-35. Late in the half, Anadarko had forced many live ball turnovers during the Lady Bulldogs transition game which allowed for quick fouls against Muldrow putting the Lady Bulldogs in foul trouble. 4th quarter Anadarko has always done well to slide to take the charge, especially Kaylee Borden which changed the momentum into the Lady Warriors favor allowing them to knocked down two 3 pointers to take the lead. The Bulldogs struggled at the free line allowing Anadarko to keep their 6 point lead half way through the 4th quarter. Last half of the game, both teams commit turnovers back to back: Muldrow forced out of bounds and steals while Anadarko continued to draw charges. Madison Chambers in foul trouble, Taylen Collins and Hannah Boyett continued to find one another allowing Hannah Boyett for 3 pointers that helped cut the lead to 2 points but Anadarko answers with a finished layup in transition by Layni Zinn. Soon after a 3 point basket from Zinn to make the stretch their lead! Down the stretch...Muldrow did not make free throws and Anadarko began to finish more layups in transition rather than 3 pointers to claim the win for class 4A State Tournament Champions. Muldrow Top Performers #14 Taylen Collins, Junior, 6'2, Forward, 9 rebounds, 24 points #21 Hannah Boyett, Senior, 5'8, Guard, 6 rebounds, 14 points #23 Madison Chambers, Senior, 5'11, Guard, 2 assist, 1 block, 1 steal, Anadarko Top Performers #4 Kaylee Borden, Sophomore, 5'6, Guard, 11 points #10 Averi Zinn, Junior, 5'7, Guard, 5 rebounds, 5 steals, 11 points #20 Jessica Quoetone, Senior, 5'5, Guard, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, 8 points #31 Lexi Foreman, Sophomore, 5'10, Forward/Guard, 5 assist, 5 steals, 12 points
