Today it was King who stepped up from the sophomore trio to start Newcastle's state tournament run. Went for 22 points and 6 rebounds. She's a powerful and dynamic slasher, who even drained a second half three as a caper in the wire to wire win for the Lady Racers. Newcastle remains undefeated against Oklahoma competition and are just two wins from claiming Gold.

A defensive possession isn't over till the ball has been secured. And on Thursday it was Sims' job to end possessions. She did just that with 12 defensive rebounds and 16 total! She chipped in with 6 points on the offensive end. With her height and wingspan, she adds an extra dimension to an already tall and strong Newcastle squad.

The sophomore flirted around with a triple double, going for 24 points, 10 rebounds and 7 steals. She has quick feet and even quicker hands, as evident by ridiculous amount of steals she forced. When the dam broke open and Booker T Washington went on a huge fourth quarter run, it had Hill's fingerpints all over it. Forcing turnovers, finishing at the rim. She bounced back from a a tough finishing first half to be money down the stretch. She punched Booker T Washington's to the Class 5A semifinals with a star making performance.

Physical guard who went for a double double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. The Hornets only hit one three pointer and it was a big one from Glenn in the third. She joined in the havoc causing with 4 steals. Plays with power and poise, which lead to her strong production on the big stage.

For a stretch to end the third, Tucker had a small burst of magic. Including hitting a 25+ footer at the buzzer of that quarter. She would end up sharing high point honors for her team with 14 points. But there were also issues with turnovers. Which seems like it could be a lesson going forward to help her continue to develop. Especially as an on the ball guard.

Tucker is one of the fastest players in the state, which often gives her an edge. But she seems to play at only one speed, which can lead to wild plays (passes and shots) on her own. And also make her an easier scout for the opposition. Hopefully this spring and summer can see her continue to refine her feel for the game and have the game slow down for her.

Cooper has felt like McGuinness' most steady player this year, as she always finds way to get buckets. She has one of the nastiest spin moves in the state, which she broke out in the first half. Great mix of a strong frame and skill. Went for 14 points and 6 rebounds. Bitter end to her sophomore year, but the consistent scoring production this season has helped certify her status as a bucket.

On the same court one of McCalister's older brothers won a State Championship on, she was fittingly a terror on the defensive end in a win for Del City. Was credited with 6 steals and played with a poise beyond her young years.

When the Lady Eagles made their move to pull ahead in the fourth, it was her defensive play and steady playmaker that delivered the knockout punch. She's quick and strong, got downhill and handed out 5 assists. Finishing and free throw shooting are room for improvement, but she still reached double figures with 10 points.

The athletic wing got Shawnee off to a fantastic start. Scoring a quick 9 points seemingly before anyone could blink. Was a problem all game long. Slashing to the rim, scoring off extended post ups. Finished with 22 points, on an outrageously efficient 10-11 shooting from the field. While it was a tough loss, after that dominating performance the lefty is an important player to track this spring.

Johnson is a pest in the all the good ways on defense. Quick freshman, who is unafraid to get her nose and hands dirty. While also knowing when to move her feet to make life tough without needing to gamble to force turnovers. Beyond the defensive impact, she also took home high point honors for Carl Albert with 15 points. A large part of her scoring came from her ability to draw fouls on drives. And she handed out 5 assists. The freshman came ready to play on the big stage.
