Some teams have already gotten underway, but the majority don’t get underway until the calendar turns to April. These are individual looks into teams for this upcoming season. The first is a look at the Michigan Cagers 2021 team coached by Billy Selvia.

Roster Breakdown
This is a team full of guards. They are a little on the smaller size with six players at 5’6 or under, but they make up for that in their shooting ability. They could struggle against taller competition but should have enough ammunition to keep up with those teams. It is going to be interesting to see if they will be able to keep up with the cream of the crop in Michigan.
One to Watch
One of the best talents on this team is Abi Tarrant. The 5’8 wing is a hustler who you can rely on to do all the dirty work for your team. She’s an excellent defender who can be called upon to get big stops when her team needs one. She is a solid rebounder for her size and is someone that you can trust with the ball in her hands. Tarrant is a player who should start to get a touch more interest this season.
Who Should be Watching
There are a couple players on this team that have DII potential but for the most part this is a team that is going to get some early NAIA and D3 looks. You might also see some of the lower DI programs checking in as well. For the most part this is going to be a group that NAIA schools will want to look at so they can file away names for next year.

Schedule Breakdown
I like this schedule for this program because it stays local. There will be a lot of colleges around to come in and see this team in Michigan that could be landing spots for their players. I really like the trip to Wisconsin and Indiana as those two trips will be huge measuring sticks, provided that they do play in the 2021 bracket.
