AAU Preview: West Michigan Drive 2020
With the end of the high school season, we are ready to turn the page and begin to look at the upcoming AAU season with a series of previews. Some teams have already gotten underway, but the majority don’t get underway until the calendar turn to April. These are an individual looks into teams for this upcoming season. The first is a look at the West Michigan Drive 2020 team coached by Larry Copeland.

Roster Breakdown
This is a really nice roster with a bunch of very talented players. They have shooting and playmaking in their guards, but have finesse and power in their forwards. This is a very solid team who likely will make a lot of noise this year. They are going to cause a lot of trouble with the smaller teams because they have a ton of length and skill within that length.
Two to Watch
There are a few players worth watching on this team but none might stick out more than Kenzie Bowers. She had a very solid high school season and already has eight offers. She’s a player who is very dynamic and can really change the outcome of a game on her own. She’s a player with a ton of skill and versatility that coaches are going to love. AJ Ediger is also collecting a lot of interest already as she received an offer from Illinois late last year. With her down low and the guards spread out, Ediger’s stock could rise a ton this summer. These two players should be the driving force behind a team with a lot of pieces.
Who Should be Watching
With Kaylee Bakker off the board to Grand Valley State, there are a ton of uncommitted prospects on this team. I think you will see a ton of DII schools at the non-live period events watching this roster. Everyone on the team should be getting those DII looks, but during the live periods don’t be surprised to see low major to mid major schools lining up to watch the top end talent on this team. It also wouldn’t surprise me to see a high major pop in to see if there is anyone they would want to follow further. A couple of these players have already been on visits to high majors and are getting interest from them.

Schedule Breakdown
This is a solid schedule for West Michigan Drive 2020. They open up the season in Indiana at an event that should be very solid. They do travel to Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois this year for big events followed by a trip to Washington DC. This is going to be a well traveled group and due to their schedule should grab the interest of college coaches that don’t necessarily get into Michigan.
