The Division 1 Final 4 was a classic. The level of play from all 4 teams was incredibly high. There were future college basketball players up and down every roster. All 4 teams proved to have state championship quality teams that deserved to be there.
In the semifinals, Saginaw Heritage outslugged Wayne Memorial by a score of 58-55. On the other side of the bracket Southfield A&T held off a furious Muskegon rally and won by a score of 54-50.
The championship game featured 2 high powered and gritty teams. Saginaw Heritage used a 12-4 2nd quarter to build a lead over Southfield A&T. Heritage stayed ahead with their ability to rebound on the offensive end, leading to 21 second chance points. Saginaw Heritage won the state championship by a score of 55-40.

Joiner comtributed in every way possible. She had a triple-double in the semifinals with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. Joiner added 2 steals to those numbers. In the championship game, Joiner came close to another triple-double. She scored 17 points, had 8 assists, and grabbed 8 rebounds. Joiner quite simply was not letting her team leave Saturday without a trophy in hand.

Strickland-Gills put up MVP type numbers. In the semifinals she had 15 points, 12 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 2 steals. She followed that up with 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 blocks in the title game.

Barnes had an oustanding Final 4. In the semifinals she had 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. Barnes led Southfield A&T in scoring in the title game with 14 points.

McEvans showed off her talent last weekend. She had 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists in the semis. In the championship game, McEvans had 13 points and 5 rebounds.

Terry had an incredible performance in a tight semifinal loss to Saginaw Heritage. She had 26 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists.
