GBB Stock Risers: Talented forwards to Watch (2020)

As summer ball is now in full swing, Prep Girls Hoops Kansas takes a look at some of the state’s top players on the rise in a variety of positions. Below are some of the state’s players to keep your eyes on in the 2020 class Lakyn Tenbrink, 6’0, F, 2020, Ellsworth A multiple sports stand out who has great athleticism, great height and a competitive edge. She runs the floor well and has a good bounce and vertical. She can do damage on both ends of the floor and looks to block shots and can score near the basket when she has an open look. Also a tough player in transition. Emma Cunningham, 5’11, F, 2020, Andover A strong power forward who has the potential to be a double double player her senior year. a strong score on the glass who works just as hard to secure rebounds and cleanup plays, Cunningham is a hard-working post player who doesn't mind playing physical on either end of the floor. She can handle pressure and is comfortable with the ball in her hands on the block. Makenna Kirkpatrick, 5’10, F, 2020, Chapman She has good size and a solid frame for the block. she can shoot from outside and can bring the ball up the floor if she needs to and operate on the wing at times. She is a solid defensive player who can block shots and send it into the stands. She plays hard and competes with an edge. Mallory Cowman, 6’1, F, 2020, Circle a player who does a lot of the dirty work inside. She has good height at 6'1 and long arms and is good at getting her hands on the ball. She looks to block shots That are near her and can do so at a high level. She can also score some around the basket and is a great rebounder and also an underrated passer. Maddie Garretson, 5’10, F, 2020, Blue Valley Southwest an athletic power forward who looks to contribute across the boards in every way she can. She can score well around the basket and is good at cleaning up plays in transition. She is also a fundamentally sound defender and can block shots and user speed to jump passing lanes and finish plays on the other side.
