This event regularly hosts dozens of top level programs throughout the country and this year was no different. With Nike EYBL, Under Armour Association and adidas Gauntlet teams in attendance, the PSB Summer Invite was a hot destination for college coaches. Over 200 college scouts made their way to the Lakepoint Sports Complex, as well as a large team of media coverage with PSB and Prospects Nation running the show.
Most hyped up games:
Exodus EYBL (NY) vs. Michigan Storm UAA (MI)
This matchup was definitely one of the most anticipated of the event with the two sponsored squads facing off in their bracket championship. Both teams displayed outstanding athleticism with their foot speed and jumping ability. 2020 G Sanaya Gregory was impressive throughout the event with her mixture of skill and athleticism for the Michigan Storm. 2020 6’3 F Erika Porter showed off her explosive high major talent for Exodus. She runs the floor well and can block shots. She would also go on to hit the game winning shot to put Exodus over the top.
Over 75 scouts were in attendance for this showdown and it drew a large crowd with excited fans. A definite win-win for prospects on both teams!
Arkansas Banshees UAA (AR) vs. NW Blazers Orange Gauntlet (WA)
The showcase game between these two teams was put together somewhat at the last moment, but it turned out to be worth it. The Banshees showed their outstanding length and confidence at every position and led from start to finish, but the Blazers refused to go away. 2020 G Jayda Noble was the fire starter for the Blazers, giving her team extra possessions, scoring on put backs and playing great on/off ball defense. 2020 G Sasha Goforth impressed for the Banshees with her shot making ability and on ball defense. She’s about 6’1, but her reach appears to be quite a bit longer. The Oregon State commit showed why she will be playing in the Pac-12.
Over 50 colleges were in attendance for these two teams with just about every conference in the country in attendance. Each team would go on to win the rest of their games with the Blazers and Banshees both knocking off Nike EYBL teams in the process.
