Hypothetically the Top 5 or 6 listed might be guards yet the college needs a post or an athletic wing because they have an abundance of guards that can all go, so all I can say is that I will always give an honest assessment based on what I see on the floor and with that being said, after the “can’t misses” tons of talented players are grouped in together so I’m revisiting my initial Top 30 and what I saw from that group at Prime Time Sportz Summer Elite Showcase. Tomorrow I’ll drop who I’m adding to the list, right around 10, give or take a few, from the same class
Kyndall HunterKyndall Hunter-5’8 PG-Cy Fair Elite 17U EYBL (Cypress Creek HS) that jumper was always smooth and add her to that list of players I called BCS Locks in MS, well maybe before she even played in middle school but that doesn’t matter because if I call it it, the players answer and she has done a great job of doing that. Prime example was helping lead her team to the state tournament as a freshman and one of the leading scorers on an EYBL squad. Her athleticism is off the charts, she creates in tight spots and elevates over defenders with “that jumper” or she blows by them with ease to finish acrobatically after contact
Aniyah Johnson-6’3 P- Drive Nation 17U EYBL (Red Oak HS) all I can say is wow after her performance effortlesslyin both of Prime Time’s events, the Summer Elite Championship and the National Basketball Championship. She’s so athletic and powerful that she is one of those players that can dominate. I can’t remember how many times she rebounded or blocked a shot and out ran everyone for a layup on the other end. Once shed changed hands in mid air a couple of times for baskets, I dropped my pen because she dropped the mic
Jasmine Shavers-6’0 G-Drive Nation 17U EYBL (Mesquite Horn HS) impressed me instantaneously when I caught her, probably 6th grade as well and I saw D1 all over her enthusiasm and energy sold me early as she understand even back then how to get hers in the flow. She defends hard and rebounds on both ends of the floor but what I really like is that she keeps adding to her impressive game. She can drop the long ball or attack from anywhere on offense or she can post up smaller players easily
Trinity Garrett-5’7 G-SA Finest Dungee (Smithson Valley HS) speedy guard, wait speedy guard with the ball, that’s even better because she creates plenty of problems for defenses. She gets to the basket easily and finishes with contact but that stop and pop in transition is nice, as well as the heat she brings on defense.
Paige BradleyPaige Bradley-5’11 G-SA Finest Dungee (Bishop Lynch HS) got a really good look at her at the SEC and I’m glad because I always want to make sure I don’t miss anything, well she was the same way because her catch and shoot is pretty darn good and accurate. Good size, makes the right decisions and can change the momentum of a game with the blink of an eye. I think was more surprised about how well she read the defense and made adjustments, that and not mind getting after it on the boards
Nyah Wilson-5’9 SG-Cy Fair 17U EYBL (Duncanville HS) I knew she would create problems beack in elementary school, she comes from a basketball family and just observing her observe her twin sisters back in the day and elaborate on what she saw just sold me. Well if that sold me, think about her growth spurt and she can get her shot off with ease, not to mention attack the basket strongly. Defends and rebounds well
Daisy Rodriguez-5’10 G-Lady Wolfpack (Whitney HS) continues to show progression each and every time I see her play. She’s long and athletic and this year her ability to catch and shoot under pressure took off. She always could shoot the three as well as attack the basket but adding that is a huge plus. She also raised up her intensity on defense, plays the passing lane and rebounds strong on both ends of the court
Amillion FowlerAmillion Fowler-5’7 SG- Houston Dream Red (George Ranch HS) she’s moving up the ladder after what she showed me and when you are that intense and your energy trickles over to your teammates, that’s pretty big because she makes those around her better without running the one. Acrobatic layups had me wishing I was on the GRAM but her athleticism brings heat on both ends of the court. She’s really showing the ability to set defenders up and that midrange is hard to contain
Bria McClure-5’5 PG- SA Finest Dungee (Steele HS) pound for poundblow, inch for inch, she’s one of the most exciting players in the state and I’ve captured this young lady leaping over taller players for acrobatic “and ones” and when you factor in her athleticism ad body control plus she handles the ball under pressure so that means two things, guard her too tight and she can blow past you and give her some room, mid to long range, count it. Oh yeah, she sees the floor
