The rebound can often be the most critical play in a game. It might an offensive rebound that leads to an easy put back or a kick out for an open 3. Sometimes it is a defensive rebound that secures a big stop at the end of a game. A small team that wants to run always has to secure the rebound first. No matter what it is every team needs a glass cleaner to secure the boards. Here are some of the rebounders that will influence the PSC race this year.
- Madison Webb is a 5’9 2020 forward from Father McGivney. Madison is a strong player that does an excellent job working against taller players. She dealt with an injury for most of the season last year but finished strong. During her sophomore season Madison averaged over 8 boards per game. Madison should have a big senior season to finish off her career in a big way.
- Abby Williams is a 5’9 2022 wing from Alton Marquette. Abby is full of energy and gets many of her rebounds off pure toughness. She does an excellent job of tracking down the ball on long rebounds. Abby boxes out consistently and can be a real force on the offensive glass. She excels in extending key possessions through her effort on the offensive glass.
- Anna Stewart is a 5’9 2020 forward from Metro East Lutheran. Anna is another player that gets her results from outworking her opponents. She often finds herself in the right position against taller opponents through her boxing out and determination. Anna should get 8-10 rebounds a game this year according to Coach Rob Stock.
- Taylor Parmentier is a 5’9 2020 forward from Wood River ( EAWR). Taylor has really worked hard to improve as a player over the years. She plays like you would expect from a coaches daughter. She is smart and never stops working. Taylor does a good job on both offensive and defensive boards for the Oilers.
- Macee Eisenbarth is a 5’8 2020 forward from Nokomis. Macee is all heart and effort. She is an undersized power forward that gets the most of her ability. Macee has an ability to get into the right spot to get rebounds on both ends of the floor. She will never be the biggest girl in the paint and not the most athletic, but she will produce for her team. Macee has been the heart of the team and is now stepping up her leadership to match her effort. She is the kind of player every coach wants.
- Charlize Luehmann is a 5’9 2022 forward from Father McGivney. Charlize was thrust into a bigger role than originally planned her freshman season and did well. She averaged 4.5 rebounds per game and had many games at 6,7 or 8. Charlize played more than expected due to injuries but really learned from Madison Webb and Caitlyn Pendall how to be effective underneath. She is active and tough and earns her rebounds through hard work.
In addition to these ladies two of the point guards in the conference, Macy Hoppes and Adrenna Snipes averaged 5 rebounds per game. There are not many traditional centers in the conference so the rebounds go to the girls that want them the most. Games are closed out with stops and big rebounds and sometimes won with big offensive rebounds and put backs. This group of girls will play a big part in showing who has the heart to go get those big rebounds.
