In this article I will give you a glimpse into the future of the conference. I will try to give you names of some players to watch that have not been a critical part of their team yet but could be in the future.
- Jillian Nelson is a 5’9 2022 wing from Alton Marquette. Jillian is an excellent soccer player that has the potential to be a big part of Coach Greens team. She has speed, jumping ability and natural instincts that can be electric. Jillian is exciting in the open floor as she makes plays that can’t be taught. As she improves her fundamentals and gets more reps on her shot Jillian could earn some attention in basketball too.
- Peyton Ashauer is a 5’8 2021 forward from Metro East Lutheran. Peyton is capable of playing inside and out if needed. She has a nice shooting touch and works very hard. Peyton is expected by Coach Stock to provide a big lift this lift and provide another inside scorer.
- Charlize Luehman is a 5’9 2022 forward from Father McGivney. Charlize is ready to step into a much bigger role for Coach Oller. She is strong at taking the ball to the hole. Charlize can really get going downhill quickly and is strong through traffic. She is working hard to improve her outside shot. Charlize is that type of player that can cause matchup problems. A smaller player won’t be able to guard her in the post and a bigger player won’t be able to guard her off the dribble.
- Adrianna Ulrich is a 5’6 2022 guard from Wood River (EAWR). Adrianna has the potential to be an outstanding player for the Oilers. She is an athlete that should be a force on defense and in the open floor. Wood River is a deep team so Adrianna can go full speed when she is in the game and wreak havoc.
- Audrey Sabol is a 6’0 2023 post player from Nokomis. Aubrey is a big strong player that has good footwork. She has a good feel for positioning that allows her to get open in the post and also get offensive rebounds. She is predominately an inside player that has nice touch around the basket. As she develops a little more range Audrey will be hard to stop.
Although this is the last year of the conference there is plenty of young talent to track. Alton Marquette started 3 freshmen and dressed 3 more. Each of the other teams has new talent to put on display too. Nokomis has a group of incoming freshmen that had a great middle school career so they will be fun to track. Make sure you get out to some games to watch them develop.
