I did not get a good look at Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, but I had a great look at the others
Amira MabryCibolo Steele-’21 Bria McClure is one of the best guards in the country, I don’t care about her size, the size of her heart is second to none and one thing I know for a fact, you go from being good to great when you make those around you better and stealing this one from Reggie Jackson, allegedly, she’s the straw that stirs the drink and they have a legitimate shot at winning the whole thing with at least 5 D1 prospects including the amazing TCU commit ’20 Aja Holmes
Converse Judson-’21 Kierra Sandelin stood completely out during the event, I already had Amira Mabry listed among the top Texas prospects from the 2022 class but Sanderlin’s “never takes a play off” mentality combined with several other pieces definitely makes this team a threat to compete for one of the medals. This squad has tons of energy, countdown starts now
Ja’Shelle JohnsonSan Antonio Johnson-this squad will compete for a state title before it’s all said and done, freshman guard Ja’Shelle Johnson sold me 2 years ago but there are several freshmen, Angel Tumbarello, Addison Iden, Julia Plata and Sydney Colleoni, that are impressive and ready for whatever on the court. 2022 players Sierra McDermed and Madelyn Garza joined Johnson on “Top 100” lists for their respective classes
San Antonio Veterans Memorial- the inside presence of ’20 Brenna Perez and ’21 Reinha Williams was solid, to say the least during the event. Both players are at “the magic number” Perez is listed among the Top 100 for her class and when you in factor in fellow senior Sahara Jones, who jumped into my Top 10, that’s a very impressive frontline of talent, next-level talent
