Here's a look at the class of 2020 attendees from the LP College Showcase & Open Gym which was held on 10/27/2019 at McLouth High School. This event was held by Lady Prospects Basketball Club. The format was perfect for those wanting to showcase their skills in front of College Coaches and get a run in before the start of the upcoming season.
Trinity McDow, 5'10' PF, Paola High School is not ranked in the Kansas Girls Prep Hoops Rankings. SLEEPER ALERT! Trinity is a Stretch 4 that can play the 2 thru 4 positions. She has a High Basketball IQ and McDow shows it when she goes to post up smaller guards and wings. Trinity can get hot quick from behind the arc and she has some good range from behind the 3 point line. Mcdow blows by defenders in the halfcourt when they closeout and she will finish at the rim or dish willingly to an open shooter. Trinity McDow is a veteran player that plays with energy and makes her teammates better. I project that Trinity will bust into the Top 60 in the Kansas Girls Prep Hoops Rankings at some point before the final rankings are out. Look for her to make a bid for 4A Kansas All-State Team for the 2019-2020 season.
Zanaa Cordis, 6'3" PF, Manhattan High School #90 in the Kansas Girls Prep Hoops Rankings is a force down low when she catches the ball in the paint. Zanaa is strong and has some nice go-to moves on either block. Cordis also has some good hands that allow her to catch tough passes in traffic. She is a very good rebounder, that knows how to get position down low and keep it. Cordis also works well in the pick-n-roll action with her guards. Zanaa Cordis is a good defender and the anchor to her team on the defensive end. Committed to the University of New Orleans.
Brooklyn Zoeller, 5'7" G, Blue Valley Randolph High School #67 in the Kansas Girls Prep Hoops Rankings likes to play downhill, keeping constant pressure on the defense. On the defensive end, Zoeller is a pest on the ball, count on her to average 2 steals a game. Brooklyn plays with passion and energy, her team will need her to be a leader this season. When Zoeller improves her 3 point shot she should average close to 20 points a game this season. My prediction is that Brooklyn Zoeller will be a KBCA 1A All-State selection this 2019-220 season.
Josie Weishaar, 5'10" G, Jefferson County North High School #35 in the Kansas Girls Prep Hoops Rankings made KBCA 2A 1st Team All-State for the 2018-2019 season. Weishaar is a long guard who uses her length on the defensive end by playing the passing lanes and getting deflections or steals. Josie can fill up a stat sheet every night, she plays hard and makes good things happen when she is on the floor. Weishaar can hit the open 3 and when she’s getting steals she stays in attack mode going the other way for easy fastbreak buckets for her teammates or herself. Look for Josie Weishaar to repeat as a KBCA 2A 1st Team All-State selection for the 2019-2020 season. Committed to Missouri Western.
Lacy Whitcomb, 5'6" CG, Shawnee Mission South High School #62 in the Kansas Girls Prep Hoops Rankings is a smart and scrappy guard. Lacy has some swag to her game and she knows how to run a team. Whitcomb has nice tight handles, she is very shifty and she can play both guard positions on a high level. Lacy loves to sit down on defense and be a nuisance to her opponents. Whitcomb was in the Top 10 in the Sunflower League last year in steals, points, and assists. Look for Lacy Whitcomb to make a bid for the 6A Kansas All-State Team for the 2019-2020 season.
