A 5’9 senior combo guard, Posch is known for her outside shooting from beyond the 3-point arc as well as her mid-range game. During the offseason she has shown the ability to push the tempo and play the 2-guard position, but with her height and all-around game, Posch has played multiple positions for her high school team.
A year ago she averaged 10 points while playing the point, helping lead a young team.
Posch spent the offseason competing for theOhlde Elite Pink team, coached by Bethel College Coach Drew Johnson.
“This by far was my favorite season – a great group of girls, and a lot of new tournaments, including Wichita Kansas, Frisco Texas, Kansas City Kansas, Indianapolis Indiana, Louisville, Kentucky, and finishing at Washington, DC,” Posch said. “I believe the experience of competing against girls from all over the country will help me be a better teammate this season.”
With a new head coach (Conner Reilly) at the helm and several key players returning, Posch says expectations are high for the upcoming season at Hutchinson.
“We are in a very tough league with great teams but we are looking forward to improve over last year,” she says.
Posch says she has had several people play a role in her basketball career to date.
“I have been fortunate to have a lot of good teammates and coaches over the years,” she said. “And a very supportive family that has followed me all over the country. I appreciate the coaches who took the time to work with me and push me to become the player that I am today – Coach Anderson, Coach Romero, Coach Johnson, Coach Soyez, Coach Stiggins, and Coach Reilly.”
A fan of former McPherson and current Oklahoma standout Taylor Robinson, Posch says she appreciates her work ethic and all-around game.
“I have practiced alongside and watched many good players in my surrounding communities,” Posch saud. “Being an outside shooter, Taylor Robertson has been one of my role models. She is an example of someone who works hard to improve her shooting and overall game.”
Posch says her decision to commit to Newman University was an easy one as she chose the school over several other programs.
“I knew early on that I wanted to attend Newman University,” she says. “Coach (Darin) Spence and Coach Krum were faithful followers and showed an early interest in me. After my first visit to Newman University, I knew that is where I wanted to play basketball and further my education.”
