The Class of 2021 is deep in Illinois and it shows as you make your way down the list. In this article, I wanted to highlight a group of new players that have been added to the rankings!
Maggie Stutelberg from Glenbard West enters the rankings for the first time at Number 29. The 6’0” Shooting Guard has great length and is one of the better three-point shooters in the area. Stutelberg moves well without the ball and gets herself open nicely for her teammates to set her up.
St. Charles North Junior Talia Pellegrini comes in at Number 53 thanks to a strong Summer on the AAU scene. The 5’7” Combo Guard plays hard on both ends, always making the hustle plays for her team. She’s solid driving in the lane and a confident finisher at the rim. Defensively she disrupts passing lanes often and leads the break well in transition.
Ellie Wisner, number 56 in her class, from Neuqua Valley is a 5’10” Combo Guard that can really play the 1 through 3 effectively. She’s a natural scorer with a good-looking jump shot from beyond the three-point line. Wisner plays with a confidence and consistency that will translate well to the next level.
Geneva Point Guard Kate Palmer, number 63 in her class, is a big reason why the Vikings are undefeated thus far. The 5’10” Lead Guard can play on or off ball with her solid combination of scoring and ball handling. Palmer shoots the ball well from deep and in the mid-range game, and her ability to attack the lane is starting to make her a very dynamic player.
Isabella Tierney from Conant is a Combo Guard that can do a lot offensively. Ranked 74 in the Class of 2021, the 5’8” Guard is a high-level shooter from deep who can also slip into the lane and finish well in traffic.
Prospects’ Eliot Dojutrek enters the rankings for the first time at number 78. She is a 5’8” Combo Guard that can play effectively on or off the ball. Her ball handling skills and ability to attack the lane with quickness and strength give her opportunities at the hoop or to find open teammates. Dojutrek’s solid shooting from deep helps stretch the floor and make her very well-rounded.
Tania Allen from Westinghouse enters the rankings at Number 80, but that could improve greatly over the course of her Junior season. The athletic 6’1” Guard is a steal machine and her quickness and length allow her many easy looks at the rim.
Point Guard Addy Curry from Westinghouse is an offensive spark plug and checks in at Number 86 in the 2021 Rankings. The 5’1” Point Guard is quick with the ball and can easily get red-hot from beyond the three-point line. Her quick release and ability to shoot off the dribble make it very tough for defenders to get a hand in her face.
