She played grassroots basketball with TC Elite and the Livonia Lightning. Piergentili is currently averaging 9 ppg, 6.4 spg, 2.7 rpg, and 2.2 apg. Last season, she set the school record for steals in a single game, with 13.
Piergentili is a uniquely talented prospect. Her game revolves around her lockdown defense. Not only can she shut her opponent down, but she has a knack for causing chaos. Piergentili has quick feet and a keen eye for the ball that helps her force turnovers. Offensively, she searches out ways and opportunities to feed her teammates. Piergentili likes to attack with the dribble drive where she can either finish or dish the ball off.
Piergentili is always trying to improve as a player, help her team improve, and experience big moments on the basketball court. She’s currently focused on doing what she can to help her team improve its offensive productivity. Piergentili’s top moment in the game came when she led her team to a 4th quarter comeback win over Fordson. She had 11 points in the final stanza. Piergentili is looking forward to a huge rivalry matchup with Livonia Churchill next week. “My team and I are excited to win city champs,” she said.
Josie Piergentili could see the recruiting process pick up as the season plays out. She has a lot to offer to a team at the next level. Every coach at every level wants defensive intensity, and Piergentili will definitely provide that.
Piergentili is focused on reaching her goals. This season she wants to win a city title and a district championship. Piergentili hopes to play college basketball, and over time, earn a spot in the starting lineup. Academics are important to her and she’s going to strive for a 4.0 GPA.
Piergentili is a motivated athlete and student. She truly appreciates those that push her to be her best. Piergentili points towards her family, her teammates, and her coach as key people that motivate her to be successful.
