Both of these young ladies have had tremendous careers at Shadow Mountain and I am very blessed to see their last game in their home gym.
No surprise that Senya Rabouin came to play. She looked really tough, scoring at will on the offensive end and collecting steal after steal after steal on the defensive end. What was surprising is the fact that Dyamond Butler-Worley played. I fully did not expect her to participate in the game. I saw her suited up for the Senior Night ceremony but assumed it was just for pictures. However, she took part in the game.
If you didn’t know, DBW suffered a knee injury earlier in the season. Many thought she would be out for the remainder of the season, so it was a big shock to see her participate in the game. It was really cool to see her and Senya go out together in their last home game.
Zhane Jordan and Sissy Paloma also looked really tough and were the catalyst in Shadow’s huge victory over Moon Valley. The score is a little bit closer than the game actually was because SM subbed in a lot of their seniors towards the end of the game. Shadow Mountain have 9 seniors on their roster and tried spreading out minutes equally between the 9 girls.
If the starters had played more, I’d guess the margin would be a lot bigger. Overall, it was a great night to culminate the ending of two of Arizona’s best to do it. Wish all of the seniors good luck in their future endeavors.
