5A Sonoran Girls Watchlist Part One

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 5A Sonoran Region features some of the top Senior prospects in Southern Arizona. When it comes time to discuss the year end POY and first/second teams I personally wont envy the coaches deciding that. Below are some of my "players to watch" this season. The Rangers are now in the 5A Sonoran after a region realignment. Wexler has proven time and time again to be one of the top overall wings in Southern Arizona. Wexler has incredible range from beyond the arc. She handles the ball well and runs the offense with confidence. Can impact the game at an elite level on both ends of the ball. Wexler will have a chance to play 2 of the best teams in the state ( Catalina Foothills and Salpointe) multiple times this upcoming season. One of the top impact players in Southern Arizona on both sides of the ball. Kollasch has a strong motor and plays with great composure and confidence. Great rebounding ability and quick to score the second chance bucket. Skilled shot blocker and creates havoc for opponents defensively. As a freshman Saucedo broke the assists record at her former school. Fast forward to her junior year where she transferred to Catalina Foothills and quickly adapted and became a crucial piece to their deep playoff run. Saucedo was the leading scorer for the Falcons during their playoff run that ended just shy of reaching the state championship game. I've had the privilege of watching her play since just prior to her freshman season where she was seen as one of the top competitors. Since the she has consistently been one of the top players in the state. She was first team all-region her freshman year, Offensive Player of the year her sophomore year and Region player of the year in her junior season. The sophomore has a college frame and great strength. Defensively she shuts down the post, clearing space and rebounding just about everything. Doyle had a terrific showing at Section 7 and continued throughout the summer leagues. Doyle finds herself in a tricky Lancer rotation but will thrive regardless. Will be a big name as far a prospects go come her senior year. This is a deep region with many talented forwards. Reidy played with tremendous composure on the biggest stage against some of the top teams at the event. Showed off high level IQ and play making ability. Runs a very effective offense. An extremely skilled dribbler with quick feet can get it done driving the lane off the glass or hitting the three off the dribble. Reidy could be in first team all region discussion in just her first season. She was selected to first team all region. Alfaro in my opinion is what the Falcons needed to make that elusive state title game. A high impact player in the post who could wind up averaging a double double for the Falcons this upcoming season. One of the more college ready forwards in the Southern Arizona 2027 class.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
