2020 SCHSL Championship Game Recap – 4A

<span style="font-weight: 400">This is a rematch of the 2019 Championship game with both teams having some different starters in the lineup but they both are coming in with momentum.  North Augusta is looking to win their 4th Straight State Championship at the 4A Level and South Pointe is looking to win the 1st in their schools history.  These teams know each other, not only from last year’s Championship and the preparation for both of these games but also the players seeing each other on the AAU/Club circuit and understanding the strength &amp; weaknesses of their opponents.  The 1st period started off with N. Augusta getting the ball inside to Freshman - Forward - [player_tooltip player_id="172178" first="Paris" last="Smith"] - to start the scoring, they would add a few more points before South Pointe would go on a 4 - 0 run fuelled by Senior - [player_tooltip player_id="124050" first="Jamia" last="Blake"] - finding - Junior - [player_tooltip player_id="124076" first="Trinity" last="Adams"] - in transition for back to back layups. From that point on N. Augusta closed out the 1st quarter on a 7 - 2 run that would have them up 13 - 6 and looking like they are in the driver’s seat to win their 4th Consecutive SCHSL Championship.  If they were already in the driver’s seat the performance by Senior [player_tooltip player_id="124061" first="Tyliah" last="Burns"] in the 2nd period had them seeing the checkered flag…. Burns went off for a total of 14 Points on 4 - 3Ptrs, including a pair on back to back plays that really broke the game open. South Pointe was not going away, even though they lost Junior - [player_tooltip player_id="124076" first="Trinity" last="Adams"] to foul trouble for most of the 2nd period, it was all hands on deck on keeping the game close at 35 - 25 with North Augusta holding a 10 Point Halftime lead.</span> &nbsp; <span style="font-weight: 400">The 2nd half started and it was an entirely different South Pointe team led by Senior - Wing - Randi Neal - who dominated the 3rd period by scoring 12 of the Stallions 20 Points in getting them tied at 45 by the end of those 8 minutes. Neal was hitting shots from all over the court and the team really emphasized getting her the ball.  The Final period started and South Pointe had all the momentum entering but North Augusta was able to string together the 1st 8 points and kept it going until it was a 17 - 6 run that had them up 62 - 51 with just 3:43 left on the clock, it seems as the 3rd quarter wore down South Pointe and there wasn’t enough in the tank to take them across the finish line. North Augusta - Senior - Guard - [player_tooltip player_id="124061" first="Tyliah" last="Burns"] - Finished off her career by adding 13 Points in the 4th Quarter which gave her a total of 33 for the game and helped to solidify the 4th consecutive 4A SCHSL State Championship for North Augusta HS. [player_tooltip player_id="124054" first="J’Mani" last="Ingram"] also finished off her Senior year in style for North Augusta adding 14 Points, Junior - Wing -<strong> [player_tooltip player_id="172180" first="Kiana" last="Lee"]</strong> - Finished with a Double/Double with 11 Points &amp; 13 Rebounds.  South Pointe was led by Randi Neal who finished with 22 Points, Senior - [player_tooltip player_id="124050" first="Jamia" last="Blake"] - finished with 9 Points, 11 Rebounds &amp; 10 Assists in her Final game for the Stallions.</span>
