<span style="font-weight: 400;">The Kansas 5A state championships were short lived in Kansas as the Kansas High School Activities Association announced on Thursday the remaining state tournament games will not be played following a single quarterfinal round of play.</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">However, Prep Girls Hoops takes a look at several players who stood out at the event, with a look here at several senior guards. </span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">To recap the quarterfinal scores, McPherson (1) beat Basehor-Linwood (8), 59-44; Aquinas (4) beats Maize South (5), 62-35; Andover Central (2) beat De Soto (7), 61-52; and Topeka-Seaman (3) beat Maize (6), 54-44.</span>
<b>Kaydyn Davison, G, 2020, Maize South</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Davison is a good 3-point shooter who can score when she has an open look. She has good leadership and control on the perimeter and a strong skill set and vision. Davison works extremely well with fellow teammate [player_tooltip player_id="121712" first="Katie" last="Wagner"] and as she can get the ball inside to her quickly. Davison is quick and smart and had a terrific senior season overall. </span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="90198" first="Lucy" last="Lally"], G/F, 2020, Basehor-Linwood</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">A nice standout for Basehor-Linwood who can rebound, score in the paint and stretch the floor with her outside shooting. Lally looks to contest shots and protect the basket and shows a lot of hustle and nice leadership. Lally has a good knowledge for the game and takes good chances on both ends of the floor. Lally led her team in the loss against McPherson with a nice double-double, 10 points and 11 rebounds. </span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="45719" first="Emma" last="Ruddle"], G/F, 2020, McPherson</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Ruddle is a solid 3-point shooter and overall guard who makes a strong impact as a scorer and hustle player. She runs the floor well and moves off the ball in search of an open shot. She comes off screens and then goes inside and then pops out again. Ruddle is also a good perimeter defender and can see time inside as well. Ruddle ended the game with Basehor-Linwood with 11 points. </span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="45778" first="Mackenzie" last="Shupe"], 5’8, G, 2020, De Soto</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">She can block shots and score from 3-point range. Shupe is a terrific leader and combo option guard who creates and facilitates. She scores when she has the open look but is comfortable playing without the ball, moving off screens and operating as a catch-and-shoot option. Shupe is creative with the ball and a smart transition piece. </span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="121712" first="Katie" last="Wagner"], 5’11, G/F, 2020, Maize South</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">The Fort Hays State University commits chose terrific all-around play on both ends of the floor. She is an elite rebounder and scorer around the basket and can create with her dribble and make plays on the perimeter as well. Wagner led her team with 18 points and showed a lot of hustle and creativity with the ball. Wagner is aggressive and has great size, athleticism and strength that makes her difficult to contain when she’s locked in.</span>
