Macon is a skilled basketball prospect. She’s very equipped to run the point even as a freshman. She has the ball handling and dribbling skills needed to guide an offense. Macon is able to put the ball on the floor, get to the rim, and finish. She has a mature game and mindset, and she’s not intimidated by the big moment. Macon played up in AAU the last couple of years and feels like it prepared her for varsity basketball.
McKenna Macon (2023, Mattawan)Macon is improving rapidly and gaining experience as a player. She’s focused on improving as a passer and expanding her basketball IQ. Macon points to her first high school 3 pointer as her best moment in the game so far. It was especially meaningful due to all the hard work she had put in to her perimeter shooting.
McKenna Macon is just starting the recruiting process. She has a lot to offer a college basketball program and has had some initial talks with college coaches. Macon definitely has next level potential. She will bring energy and a passion for the game to a college team.
Macon has goals that she wants to achieve. For the remainder of this season, she wants to become more of a vocal leader and help her Mattawan High School team win a district championship. Macon is eyeing a future as a college basketball player. She wants to earn a college degree and eventually take over her Dad’s basketball academy.
Macon is motivated by her Dad. “Knowing how passionate he is in helping me (and others) learn and understand the game motivates me to give it my all every time I step on the court.”
