The group of scoring guards in 2023 is very diverse, with a mixture of shooters, physical drivers, and smooth scorers all mixed in. It has a little depth right now, but I have a feeling we’ll see that depth build over the years, as there are still several girls on the wing growing and gaining strength. Still, though, a couple of them have already picked up Division-I interest/offers, and I’m sure more will once we are able to reconvene this Summer to finish the grassroots season. Below is a look at the top ten 2-guard prospects in Indiana’s Class of 2023, with additional comments to follow.

As just a Freshman, Nevaeh Foster Nevaeh Foster 5'8" | CG Mishawaka Marian | 2023 State #39 Nation IN set Mishawaka Marian’s single-season record for points this year with 536. The 5-8 guard is smooth with the ball, she can make shots with range, and she is strong attacking the basket. She has sort of an “old school” style to her game, and she can score in bunches or get a “quiet” 30 just about any given night because of her use of the free throw line. Taylor Farris Taylor Farris 5'8" | CG Oxford Talawanda | 2023 State OH of Northeastern is another player who I have grown to really enjoy watching over this last year. She is another strong and athletic guard who does a little of everything well. She’s hidden a little out there near Richmond, but she can play with the best of them.
Trinity Lutheran’s Bailey Tabeling Bailey Tabeling 5'10" | SG Trinity Lutheran | 2023 State IN put together an outstanding Freshman season, leading them in scoring this year with a 21.4 point per game average. She eclipsed the 20-point mark on 16 occasions, and passed 30 points five times as well. She has good length, ball skill, and she can make shots consistently at all levels. I am also very intrigued by Nasiya Gause Nasiya Gause 5'7" | SG Lake Station Edison | 2023 State IN , located at the other end of the state at Lake Station Edison. She is a strong, powerful, physical combo guard who can get to the rim and finish or make shots off the bounce. She averaged right around 13 points per game and scored 33 points against Hammond Bishop Noll in Sectional play.
Kaleah Toomer Kaleah Toomer 5'10" | SF Ben Davis | 2023 State IN of Ben Davis is someone else who caught my eye during the Winter season. I didn’t know much about her until I saw the Giants play, and she is incredibly interesting. She has great length, she’s a long, fluid, fast and athletic wing, and she plays with a good motor. I really like her potential to become an elite defender, but she can also handle it a little and make shots around the perimeter on occasion. While there are only ten girls listed above, there are many more you’ll be hearing about in the coming seasons, as the Class of 2023 is deep with talent.
