This is our second look at some of the future stars that proved themselves on the court in their first season.
Jalyn Austin (G, Southfield A&T)
Austin is a confident and athletic scorer. She knows she can find a bucket and is willing to work for it. Austin can play at any pace and has the potential to be a big time defender.
Zoie Bamm (PF, Columbia Central)
Bamm is a throwback post player that dominates the paint. In fact, she put up multiple 20 point and 20 rebound games last season. Bamm isn’t ball dependent and can get hers through the flow of the game.
Megan Gross (G, Clare)
Teams will have a hard time containing Gross on the perimeter in the coming years. She can handle the ball exceptionally well with both hands. Gross is a true 3 level scorer that can shoot off the dribble or the catch.
Mayla Ham (F, Wayne)
Ham was an instant impact player on a young Wayne squad. She was willing to come in and grind as a freshmen and establish her niche for her team. Ham has a very high ceiling as a prospect and could see a huge growth of her game over the couple of years.
Alexcis Parker (G, Linden)
Parker has a bright basketball future here in Michigan. She’s a solid all around athlete with good footwork and vertical quickness. Parker has a very mature and level headed game. She’s smart with the basketball and makes solid on court decisions.
Alyssa Samartino (SG, Bishop Foley)
Samartino is fun to watch as a shooter. She has range on her jumper that extends past the 3 point line. Samartino is at her best shooting off the catch.
