<span style="font-weight: 400">Grassroot Spotlight - A’ja Wilson Elite 17U</span> &nbsp; <span style="font-weight: 400">The 2nd year of A’ja Wilson Elite promises to bring an excellent group of players to the court, I had an opportunity to speak with program director: Jerome Dickerson about his top age group team and players that will be taking the court for him this AAU/Club season.</span> &nbsp; <span style="font-weight: 400">17U Team</span> &nbsp; <span style="font-weight: 400"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="124070" first="Laila" last="Acox"]</strong> - 2021 - 6’1” - Forward - Ridge View High School (SC) - Extremely athletic, skilled player that can dominate the game from the defensive end of the floor, rim protector. 3 level scorer that is a mismatch on the offensive side of the floor, outstanding leaping ability and can finish over taller players in the post, High Motor.  Recruiting has picked up tremendously for her services.</span> &nbsp; <span style="font-weight: 400">[player_tooltip player_id="124071" first="Malayziah" last="Etheredge"] - 2021 - 5’9” - Guard - Westwood High School (SC) - Skilled combo guard that can operate all 3 perimeter positions, high level perimeter defender that can finish in traffic and has a consistent mid-range jump shot. High motor and is a great communicator on the court, will be a great addition at the next level.</span> &nbsp; <span style="font-weight: 400">[player_tooltip player_id="124087" first="Amber" last="Burton"] - 2021 - 5’11” - Forward - Dreher High School (SC) - Great frame and high motor, inside &amp; Outside scoring ability, uses her handle to face up on defenders and can get by most forwards &amp; posts. Developing perimeter game, has great shot form and range to beyond 3-Pt line. </span> &nbsp; <span style="font-weight: 400">[player_tooltip player_id="124072" first="Janiyah" last="Hagood"] - 2021 - 5’8” - Guard - JL Mann High School (SC) - Athletic, highly skilled perimeter scorer, has the ability to score in bunches, can break down defenders and get into the lane. Long arms and quick feet make her a great defender that can create offensive opportunities from that side of the court.</span> &nbsp; <span style="font-weight: 400">[player_tooltip player_id="124077" first="Trinity" last="Franklin"] - 2021 - 5’4” - Guard - Greenville High School (SC) - Highly skilled ball handler that is a true floor general, likes to get into the lane for her floater and also dropping dimes to her teammates.  Tough perimeter defender that plays way above her size.</span> &nbsp; <span style="font-weight: 400"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="171741" first="Kimmie" last="Barnes"]</strong> - 2021 - 5’11” - Forward - Marion High School (SC) - Athletic slasher that can get to the rim and finish in traffic, long arms make her a tough perimeter defender that competes at a high level, led her Marion High team to the 3A SCHSL State Championship game.  The versatility she brings to the court will be a major asset to college programs.</span>
