Continue ReadingThe South Central AA is a challenging conference that has some very nice looking stock risers, some of those are on the same team like the duo of Bayless up and comers Sherrell Van (’22) and Cayla Anderson (’21). Maklya Spann of Crossroads is a sophomore that could already be the best scoring threat in the South Central.
Makyla Spann, 2022, Crossroads
One of the more impressive scorers in the South Central AA Conference, Spann a 2022 prospect averaged 19.6 ppg. and scored 313 points in 16 games for the Current. Wasted no time getting off to a good start with 31 points in season opener vs. Medicine and Bioscience. Had a great game vs. Gateway Science also with 31 points as well and added a 29 point outing vs. Bayless.
Sherrell Van, 2022, Bayless @sherrellvan1
The Bayless Bronchos had one of the better looking class of 22 players in the conference as well, Van was early play maker and a player that scored 36 points in just her fifth game of the season vs. Confluence. Was able to net 27 vs. Crossroads College Prep and added 24 vs. Providence Christian. One to keep an eye on for sure in the South Central AA prospect list.
Chloe Swedlund, 2023, Maplewood
The freshman was a great one in the conference and arguably the best freshman in the league, a player that averaged 14.2 ppg. and made 26 treys on the year. Not afraid to shoot the rock, expect more scoring from the freshman in the coming seasons. Had 26 points vs. Valley Park, and netted 22 points vs. Valley Park once again who had no answer for Swedlund.
Cayla Anderson, 2021, Bayless
Joining teammate Sherrell Vann in the class of 22 for Bayless players making moves, Anderson is a very good prospect as well in the South Central AA Conference. Had several double digit scoring outings with a season best of 18 vs. Brentwood and 17 vs. Crossroads College Prep.
Madison Maxwell, 2021, Valley Park
2021 grad who was a good one for Valley Park and had some great scoring outings late in the year and really came along well with 10 vs. Maplewood, 11 vs. Valmeyer, 16 vs. Maplewood in their second meeting, and 11 vs. Crossroads College Prep.
