This past season allowed the class of 2022 to further their develop, as a few players rose to the top, showing that they can impact the game across all levels when they are on the court. Mountainside’s [player_tooltip player_id="158517" first="Halle" last="Hageman"] is a dynamic leader for her team that will continue to develop next season as she will have the keys to the offense. [player_tooltip player_id="158513" first="Abby" last="Graham"], top player in the class, is a player who does the simplest things in a big way. [player_tooltip player_id="158522" first="Alia" last="Harris"] and [player_tooltip player_id="158516" first="Danika" last="Starr"] are two athletic players for their respective teams who contribute to their teams on both ends of the floor. Here are the Do-It All Players of the Class of 2022, Part 1. [player_tooltip player_id="158517" first="Halle" last="Hageman"] 2022 5’6" SG Mountainside HS - Halle is an all around player who leads by example with her team-first mentality as she is not afraid of the big moment. She averaged 9.0 points, 4.2 assist, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.7 steals, shooting an astonishing 42 percent of three-point land in the way. Hageman is a confident shooter with a fast release that can be relied upon at any given moment, as shown through her 4-5 three-point performance versus Liberty in the 6A State Tournament. She is a shifty ball handler, with the exuberance of a solid floor general who looks for her teammates. Defensively on it, as she uses her quickness and overall awareness to keep a lid on her opponents. [player_tooltip player_id="158522" first="Alia" last="Harris"] 2022 5’10" SF South Eugene HS - Alia is a tall, athletic, strong forward who plays all over the floor but her game starts on the defensive end. She is an intimidating defender as she uses all of her length and speed right at you, pressuring the ball for steals and loose balls. Once she picks it up, she is effective in the open court as a conscious passer but can finish it with her strong frame as well. Also a formidable force downlow on the defensive end, as her timing and aggression help her as a rim defender. Still developing as an offensive player, but her overall physicality enables her as an interior scorer. [player_tooltip player_id="158516" first="Danika" last="Starr"] 2022 6’1" SG Churchill HS - Danika is a big guard for Churchill who has big skills all across the board. She has a polished mid-range game in which she likes to fake first and make powerful dribbles towards the basket to get a high percentage shot. Also an excellent offensive rebounder through her high motor and persistence and her physicality proves to be effective as an inside scorer. Her height and offensive awareness and skills prove to be a dangerous combination for the wing as she can score all around the court. Defensively, she is engaged and also uses these skills on the defensive glass as well as a rim protector. [player_tooltip player_id="158513" first="Abby" last="Graham"] 2022 5’10" SG St Mary’s Academy - Abby is an extraordinary ball-handler who creates a lot of plays and opportunities for herself and teammates based on this one attribute. She has a lot of deception and wiggle and can get through small spaces and finish the rim in an acrobatic fashion. She has a number of dribble combination moves, hesitation, and jab moves that she uses to catch the defender off-balance and gets off any shot that she wants. Has a nice floater as well as is more than capable of hitting it from deep. Shot 43 percent from three and averaged 13 points, 5.2 rebounds 2.2 steals, and 2.3 assists per game last season for the Blues as she showcased her all around game.
