<span style="font-weight: 400">As players and teams hope to get back on the court this summer, several underrated forwards and centers at various small school in Kansas 2A have caught our eye in recent months that are poised for a big sophomore season in 2020-21. Among them are all-state selections [player_tooltip player_id="124976" first="Tallon" last="Rentschler"] of Smith Center, [player_tooltip player_id="160934" first="Amaya" last="Marlatt"] of Jackson Heights and Rachel Fischer of Medicine Lodge, among others.</span>
<b>Rachel Fischer, 6’0, C, 2022, Medicine Lodge</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400">A strong player with good size and the ability to play well on the low post. She has terrific size for her age and position at 6’0 and can show out on both ends of the floor. She has good length and shows potential as a rebounder on both ends of the floor and is good at contesting shots and making plays in a variety of ways offensively.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="47086" first="Madelyne" last="Koop"], 5’10, F, 2021, West Elk </b>
<span style="font-weight: 400">An impressive scorer and rebounder who is physical and has a way of coming down with the ball that is all her own. A 2A third team All-State performer, Koop looked play hard on both ends of the floor and was a rebounding machine opposing teams had to game plan for. She also looked to score and did so well showing a knack for play at the low and high post. She averaged 14.8 points, 10.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.4 steals per game last season. </span>

<span style="font-weight: 400">A creative scorer inside who has good footwork and the ability to slip through defenders and score. Marlatt has good vision and works hard to make plays inside. She outworks opponents and showcases strength, toughness and is always looking to score or rebound or come away with the ball. Marlatt also has a nice touch at the high post, able to turn and score quickly around the free throw line. </span>

<span style="font-weight: 400">An athletic big and a multiple sport standout. Rentschler is a player on the rise who moves well in transition and is quick to get back on defense. She works hard to rebound on both ends of the floor and looks to contest shots, make smart passes and score anywhere on the floor she has an opening. A good-sized player at 5’11 who can play hard and get touches. </span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="124989" first="Kaylee" last="Simpson"], 6’0, F, 2022, Chase County</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400">A strong defensive player who can stay with the ball, rebound, block shots and come away with steals inside and on the perimeter. She absorbs contact well offensively and can Score and get to the free-throw line. She has good handles for a player her size and shows good vision and the ability to force turnovers and pass ahead to her teammates who are crashing the basket. An all-around player who has good footwork and potential on both ends.</span>
