Co-state champs is not something you hear often, or as a competitive player probably want to be crowned. You want to be THE state champ! However, in these trying times we are all in, the NCHSAA had a decision to make, and I will say it was probably the right one. Here are the players who helped make this run possible:
The team was led by seniors [player_tooltip player_id="116848" first="Chyna" last="Cornwell"], Aalia Walton, and Jahlea Peters. Chyna a tremendous high school player who has signed to play her college ball at Rutgers, while, Aalia, and Jahlea remain unsigned. Both of whom made this run possible each averaging right around 7 points a game, and each right around 3 assists per game. These seniors had a great run.

Cassidy Geedes: The 5’6 freshman point guard showed out big time in her debut season for the Red Devils. She averaged just under 8 points per game, and as a freshman point guard a little over 4 assists per game! She has a good feel for the game. She knows to pass and relocate, she hits her open teammates, and she can make decisions in the open court/fast break. Cassidy is also that scrappy defender you like to see, she is flying around trying to make things happen. She is going to be a very good player over the next 3 years.
Grace Loftin: The 5’10 junior power forward was a glue kid who plays hard until the end. Averaging just under 11 points per game and 7 rebounds per game, Grace is the kid who plays until the whistle stops her. She had 5 double doubles this season, and out of their last 7 games, 6 of them she scored 17 or more points. She was really getting them going down the stretch of the playoffs. Another great season is ahead of her.
[player_tooltip player_id="116902" first="Emma" last="Fox"]: The 6’4 sophomore center has been playing behind a beast in the paint the last 2 seasons and has picked up a thing or 2. Emma has the potential to really be a defensive presence down-low. At 6’4 she can block and alter shots just by being there. She grabbed right around 5 rebounds per game this season, but grabbed double digit rebounds in 4 outings. She utilizes her size to help her finish around the rim. If she can get into some better shape and get with a strength coach she will have no problems finding a home at the next level in 2 years.
