5A West Regionals: Dominant Scorers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>NCHSAA hosted the regional tournaments this weekend.  I was able to check out the last day of the West Regionals hosted at Lenoir Rhyne on Saturday.  The last game was the 5A matchup between Forest Hills and North Lincoln.  Let's take a look at the leading scorers from the matchup.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block the second half bringing some energy back to her team.  She did well seeing the floor finding her open teammates from the free throw line as they cut to the basket hitting them in stride.  She flashed for her team knocking it down from deep, and honestly I don't think anyone was surprised she started the scoring off for her Knights team.  She had a quick close out on the perimeter blocking the shot and coming down with the steal.  She knew when to take the ball all the way to the rim herself or make the dish to her teammates.  She even had a nice old fashioned three point play attacking the range shooting the ball, too.  She had some tough takes to the basket taking advantage of her speed and long strides getting to the rim.  She runs the floor well being ready to get the loose possession or go to work on a fast break filling in open lanes getting ready for the pass.  She had a nice step back move hitting her jumper at the elbow.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- to get her the ball around the perimeter.  She made some nice cuts to the basket being ready for the catch and bucket banking it off the glass.  She knew how to draw attention to herself opening up outs and picking the pocket of her opponents to get some points.  She was using her jab step to create an opening attacking the paint.  She was patient waiting for the floor to open up for her and taking advantage.  She somehow kept sneaking behind her opponents to get the pass on the block.  Her defense drew some offensive fouls getting the possession back for her team.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph
