Sonia Panchel, Kentucky Country Day (2022) – One of the only double figure scorers in the 7th region who didn’t graduate last month, Panchel is going to be a top 10 player in the region next season. A shifty guard who can score or get teammates involved, Sonia should be in the mix for best Class A player in Louisville and could get her team to Richmond for All A state.
Sara Ritter, Whitefield Academy (2024) – The leading scorer for Whitefield as an 8th grader, Ritter is a talented scoring guard who can heat up in a hurry. She has a ways to go in improving other aspects of her game but the potential is there for Sara to be a 20+ point per game scorer by her Junior and Senior seasons.
Rachel Disney, Louisville Collegiate (2024) – Collegiate rolled through the 7th Region All A last year but lost a lot of talent to graduation. Disney will have to transition from supporting actor to star this year as she should inherit the majority of the shots for the Lady Titans.
Ayda Marshall, St. Francis (2022) – One of the most talented players on this list, Marshall could play for any 7th region powerhouse but shoulders the majority of the scoring burden for St. Francis. She could score 20 or more points per game this year and may have to for her team to make a run through the Class A regional.
Jada Hughes, Eminence (2024) – Another rising freshman to make this list. Hughes is a tough scoring guard who has to take a lot of shots for her team to have a shot to win. Her shooting numbers are mediocre but she’s carrying a heavy burden already and her efficiency will improve as she gets stronger and can finish around the rim better and through contact.
Shelby Wilcoxson, Trimble County (2021) – Trimble County is a very small school and Wilcoxson leads the team in nearly every statistical category, every game. Shelby has shown the ability to score, rebound and defend and should be looked at as a legitimate small college prospect moving forward.
