The Central Michigan commit competed hard on both ends of the floor. Her size, length, athleticism and ability to guard positions 1-5 worked really well for Douglass on defense. She caused deflections and came up with a ton of steals. Darrington also cleaned the glass, scored very well around the rim and received Player of the Game.

Darrington is extremely long and she uses her length so well. She can elevate over defenders to get her shot off and she finishes high at the rim. She also is a solid shot blocker and when she doesn’t get the block, she was altering shots at the rim. Even when the opposing teams were doing a good job of limiting her on the boards, she was still coming up with rebounds consistently.

It’s not often we have a player make a 50+ spot jump but that’s exactly what happened with Ayanna as she moved up from 60th to 4th overall in the class. After averaging 13 points and 11 rebounds per game on 50% shooting, Darrington helped Douglass get to Rupp Arena and put herself on the map with college coaches who covet the big wing forward.
