Every team good players with height and the ability to rebound, block shots, protect the basket and provide scoring punch in the paint.
Here, Prep Girls’ Hoops takes a look at several forwards, centers and post players with size that<span style="font-weight: 400"> have caught our eye in recent months after a big junior season.</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400">Among the prospects that stood out are Norton 6’2 forward [player_tooltip player_id="123520" first="Tessa" last="Hauser"], 6’0 Wichita Collegiate forward [player_tooltip player_id="123482" first="Maddy" last="Mairs"] among several others.</span>
<b>Jada Dangerfield, 5’10, F, 2021, Humboldt </b>
<span style="font-weight: 400">A longer player who uses her size to her advantage on both ends of the floor. Dangerfield is listed at 5’10 and is good at making plays at the low and high post area. She works hard to box opponents out and can score second chance baskets or as a post-up option or in transition or outside some.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="160920" first="Cali" last="Foltz"], 5’10, F, 2021, Anderson County </b>
<span style="font-weight: 400">Foltz is an intelligent big who moves well and has a way of getting open around the basket. She has good footwork and can stay in front of opponents defensively but also uses her athleticism to help her find separation and score over top of opponents. She’s agile and is good at making plays inside and out and has a clear height advantage in most scenarios.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="123520" first="Tessa" last="Hauser"], 6’2, F, 2021, Norton </b>
<span style="font-weight: 400">A skilled scorer and rebounder who puts a lot of pressure on herself to perform at a high level. Hauser has great size at 6’2 and shows good movement both with and without the ball. She has solid footwork and can play strong defense and block shots. Last season she averaged a team high 16 points, a team high 10.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, two steals and a team high 1.4 blocks per game. A high ceiling player.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="123482" first="Maddy" last="Mairs"], 6’0, F, 2021, Wichita Collegiate</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400">A good -sized power-forward who looks to block shots and protect the basket. She is active as a defender and moves her feet well and can stay in front of opponents and force them to throw away the ball. She can score well inside and moves off the ball, but also can score after the catch and create her own shots. </span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="160936" first="Courtney" last="Stone"], 5’11, F, 2021, Santa Fe Trail</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400">Stone is a solid to a player who looks to force turnovers, block shots and rebound on both ends of the floor. She is also a creative score who can get to the free-throw line and connect. Last season she averaged a team high 16.1 points, a team high 10.7 rebounds, 1.2 steals and a team high two blocks per game as a junior. A player to keep your eyes on given her size, creativity and productivity on offense. </span>
