- Ashlynn Brooke Ashlynn Brooke 5'7" | PG Pioneer | 2023 State IN is a 5’6 2023 Guard from Pioneer, In and Always 100 Elite 15U. Ashlynn caught my eye as I was wanting to watch the 15U championship game and see who beat the Blue Star 15U team. While watching the game she just jumped off the screen. Ashlynn is a great ball handler, very slick with the ball and great court vision. She can score, she can facilitate and she plays with a flair. I dare say she reminded me of a younger and shorter Paige Bueckers. Keep an eye on this girl. She is very good and only 1 year removed from an ACL tear.
- Brooke Coffey Brooke Coffey 6'0" | SF Incarnate Word Academy | 2023 State MO is a 6’1 2023 Wing from Incarnate Word and Blue Star 15U. Brooke is a very talented wing player that can do it all. She can move well without the ball and plays well within a system. Brooke is used to playing with talented players so she does not have to command the ball but will find her spots within the team. She can score at any spot on the floor and is a willing passer.
- Olivia Hahn is a 5’8 2023 Guard from Incarnate Word and Blue Star 15U. Olivia is another IWA player on the Blue Star 15U team that impressed me. She is hard nosed and will play with energy and no fear. She can handle it and defend very well. Olivia was a role player on the varsity level last year but still put in 3 points, 3 rebounds, 1.5 assist and 1.4 steals per game, as a freshman. Olivia can play and will continue to grow and contribute for Blue Star and IWA.
- Kloe Froebe is a 5’8 2024 Guard from Lincoln and the Illinois Elite. Kloe is an exciting young prospect that shows the ability to do many things on the floor. I like her feel for the game and instincts. She can handle the ball well enough to get where she wants on the court and is already comfortable shooting off ball screens and reading the defense. Kloe can finish through contact and is used to playing at a fast pace which will help prepare her for the college game.
- Kyleigh Block Kyleigh Block 5'7" | CG Villa Grove/Heritage | 2021 State IL is a 5’7 2021 Guard from Villa Grove and the Aristocrats. I really enjoyed watching Kyleigh play and compete this week. She is very tough and a very vocal leader. Kyleigh was doing whatever her team needed from her, which was often playing out of position by attempting to guard in the post and rebounding. Offensively she was very active, cutting and posting up in addition to shooting the 3 and getting into the lane.
- Addy McCleod is a 5’6 2023 Guard from Champaign Central. Addy is a slender player with long arms and a good feel for the game. She handles the ball well and can make the right passes to her teammates to set them up. Addy is continuing to get stronger which will help her create more of her own shots and get to the rim consistently. Her best weapon on the floor is her deep range and deadly outside shot. Addy had multiple games during the school season of putting up big scoring numbers from behind the arc. She is one to watch her grow over the next 3 years.
- Jailah Pelly Jailah Pelly 5'9" | SG O'Fallon | 2023 State IL is a 5’9 2023 Guard from East St Louis and Brad Beal Elite 2023. Jailah is an exceptional athlete that is still improving her skill set to match her athletic ability. She can play defense and run the floor with the best. Jailah gets many of points off effort and that ability to simply go get a rebound or out run everyone to a loose ball. As she improves her outside shot she will be very hard to defend because she can handle it well enough to get around her defender.
- Shakira McCline Shakira McCline 5'5" | CG East St. Louis | 2023 State IL is a 5’7 2023 Guard from East St Louis and Midwest United 17U.Shakara had a nice week by averaging over 15 points per game. She is an athletic player that is continuing to work hard to develop all aspects of her game. Shakara has a scorers mentality and is best using her dribble to create her opportunities. That may be the jumper or getting all the way to rim to score or pass.
- Maelyn Ridener is a 5’6 2021 Homeschool player from Louisville, Ky. and the Central Illinois Predators 17U. Maelyn is good at getting into the lane and finding ways to finish at the rim. She has range out past the 3-point line and made several threes during the week. Maelyn uses her strength well on the defensive end where she can guard multiple positions.
- Kylee Parker is a 5’7 2021 Guard from Springfield Lanphier and Central Illinois Predators 17U. Kylee uses her length well on both ends of the floor. Her long arms with her frame make it easier to harass offensive players and get tips and also easier to finish in the lane. Kylee has a nice shot from deep and hit 3- pointers consistently in the tourney.
I am looking forward to Nike TOC session 2 in Indy this weekend.
