The girls mentioned in this article are prospects for colleges to watch. None are sure fire high level prospects but there are many with the potential to get there over the next 13 months. All of them should have a chance to shine on their high school teams this year.
- Trinity Tingley Trinity Tingley 5'5" | PG Paris | 2023 State IL is a 5’6 Point Guard from Paris and Indiana Elite Havoc. Trinity is a “true Point guard” that knows the game and what the coach wants to see on the floor and can get her team into those spots. Trinity handles the ball and passes the ball well and has very good court vision. She is a leader and is a huge key to the success of her team.
- Haley Ottenschnieder Haley Ottenschnieder 5'7" | CG Breese Central | 2023 State IL is a Guard from Breese Central and St Louis Phenom. Haley is best right now attacking the basket and using her strength to get fouled or finish in the paint. She started the season being able to get to the rim almost every time she tried. Haley will use her left hand as often as her right so she is hard to predict when she puts the ball on the floor. She continues to show patience when she gets in the lane, looking for her spots and pivoting and keeping her head up until she finds it.
- Alycia Triplett Alycia Triplett 5'11" | PF Fishers | 2023 State IN is a 5’11 Forward from Charleston and Indiana Elite Havoc. Alycia is a very strong and versatile inside and outside player. Against younger or smaller competition Alycia will dominate inside with her strength and high motor by simply out working her opponent. Alycia can also step away from the basket and beat you off the dribble. She has a good first step and will control defenders with her strength on the way to the rim.
- Kendra Young Kendra Young 6'0" | SF Paris | 2023 State IL is 6’0 Wing from Paris and Indiana Elite Havoc. Kendra is a long wing that plays with a shooters mentality. She can hit from anywhere on the floor so Kendra works to find spots to catch and shoot. Kendra really had her shot going at key times during the start to the AAU season. Her length really helps on defense too where she gets tips and traps well.
- Sophia Loden Sophia Loden 5'11" | SF Mascoutah | 2023 State IL is a Wing from Mascoutah abd St Louis Phenom. Sophia has a high motor and is very scrappy which allows her to pick up 4-5 points a game by just picking up loose balls and offensive boards. She played well in the opening weekend by showing her continued improvement on her 3-point shot. Sophia has worked hard to improve her accuracy and her range which is paying dividends..
- Megan Rennegarbe Megan Rennegarbe 5'9" | SF Okawville | 2023 State IL is a 5’8 Guard from Okawville and the Saints. Megan is a long and smooth player that finds her way into good spots with her great instincts. She can get in the lane off the bounce and does a very good job of making cuts to open spots. Megan gets many tips and steals due to her long arms and good anticipation on the defensive end.
- Alivia McCulla is a Forward from Parkway South and St Louis Phenom. Ailvia is a hard working 4/5 that shows a big upside to keep an eye on moving forward. Alivia demonstrates a good understanding of how to get post position and a also a few repeatable post moves that she used to score in the lane. In the first weekend she showed that bounce and burst that is the key to future development.
There are some very talented players in the 2023 class in the Southern Illinois/St Louis Metro area and they will be fun to watch as they continue to improve.
