Top Unsigned Prospects at Thunder/ECU Shootout

Another great weekend of basketball is in the books. There were some teams that had to drop out, but it was still a very competitive weekend. Everything was well run and some of the best players in the state of Florida were in the building. Two of the best teams in the state with ECU Murray and Team Dupree were in action, too. There was definitely some rust to be shaken off, but it felt good to see some basketball back in action at SLAM! Tampa. Here are 7 of the best unsigned prospects from this weekend: <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91506" first="Isabella" last="Prada"] - Thunder Select - 2021</strong> Isabella is so smooth with her handles and ability to push the ball up the court in control. She shot the ball at a high clip from every part of the floor with her pretty outside shot and a strong mid-range jumper. Her all-around game is fantastic, and she doesn’t get the credit she deserves. Isabella sees the court, plays solid defense, and is a high motor player who crashes the boards. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91490" first="Mikyla" last="Tolivert"] - ECU Murray - 2021</strong> Mikyla just got a big offer from Duke about a month ago, and it wouldn’t shock me to see more Power 5 offers roll in. She can score as well as anyone in the state, and she can do it all outside of just putting it in the hoop. She's a high IQ player with a strong frame who is always anticipating the next play. Mikyla rebounds well, makes the right pass, and has active hands on defense. Her game is one of the most well-rounded in the entire state. <strong>Marinique Reddin - Thunder Select - 2021</strong> Marinique is a strong, physical player that is relatively unknown compared to the others on this list. Her high school team isn’t full of talent, so it was refreshing to see her compete and hang with some really good players. She did a solid job of rebounding on both ends and playing good defense with the quickness she has for her frame. Marinique is hard to stop going downhill with her ability to finish through contact. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="145094" first="Nyla" last="Jean"] - ECU Murray - 2021</strong> I think Nyla gets better every time I watch her play. She defends so well and is so springy on her jumper and sneaky passes over/around defenders. Her eyes are always up the floor and she can knock down her shots from anywhere. Nyla has good hops that are evident when she skies for a rebound or to intercept a pass. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91571" first="Katie" last="Ambrose"] - Tampa Thunder Team Dupree - 2022</strong> Katie is a top guard in the 2022 class because of her ability to handle the ball and make high level passes. She looks to push the ball on the break, but also knows when to pull it out when it gets crowded. Her offensive game and shooting accuracy is continuously getting better, and she's always putting in work to improve on all aspects of her game. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="145088" first="Shamya" last="Joiner"] - ECU - 2022</strong> Shamya is a big-time impact player who always influences the game on both ends when she is in there. She's in your face on defense with active hands and quick feet. Her ability to handle pressure and see the floor is impressive on offense, and she is very strong around the rim. You can't deny the energy she brings to her team on every single play. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91512" first="Kassidy" last="Jones"] - Tampa Thunder Team Dupree - 2021</strong> Kassidy is a sought after recruit that had some solid offers already. She's got good size and length for her position, and she knows the game very well. She has a great shot, makes some clean passes, and grabs boards like a forward. Her shot blocking continues to get better, and she always plays with a lot of passion. Kassidy is a confident player that will play harder than anyone else on the court.
