FL/GA Showcase: Unsigned Seniors and College Coaches Align

The FL/GA Showcase created a strong intersection of opportunity and need, bringing together unsigned seniors eager to prove themselves and college coaches actively evaluating talent to fill roster spots. The seniors competed with urgency and made the most of every possession in front of decision-makers, while coaches evaluated players with the intent to identify those who can contribute and impact their respective rosters. That created a highly competitive showcase where the potential was clearly evident. In this article, we take a look at some of the unsigned 2026 prospects who were there to seize the moment.      Blocton played with urgency and confidence, consistently putting pressure on the defense. The senior guard looked to get to the rim, especially in transition, where she converted multiple fast-break opportunities. Blocton showed the ability to score in a variety of ways, including finishing at the rim, shooting the midrange, and the occasional three-pointer. Blocton knows how to score. This past season, the Senior guard averaged 23.1 points per game, embracing the scoring role and demonstrating that same mindset at this Showcase. Defensively, she contributed both on and off the ball, playing the passing lanes and turning defense into offense with her ability to go coast-to-coast.     Haygood is one of the top defensive guards in the state, with a proven track record of generating steals. She has been amongst the State leaders throughout her high school career. Her defensive instincts stand out as she applies constant pressure and disrupts opposing guards. She can get downhill and attack the rim, while also showing court vision as a facilitator. While the showcase format didn't fully display her entire skill set, her impact was still evident. As an unsigned senior, Haygood brings defensive toughness, experience, and competitiveness that translate to the next level.     Salcedo showcased speed, athleticism, and a quiet competitive fire, using her quickness and change of direction to break defenses down. She consistently got into the heart of the defense and created opportunities for three-point shooters on the perimeter. Her playmaking ability was emphasized, and she stood out, showing strong decision-making and court awareness. She finished inside, pushed the ball in transition, and facilitated effectively. Defensively, Salcedo can be a disruptor on the ball, using quick feet and anticipation. Offensively, she can get to the rim and shows some ability to finish at the rim and through contact.     Parker brings a strong, physical presence as a versatile power forward or center. She plays with a consistent motor and embraces the physical side of the game. Her size, strength, and defensive mindset stand out, as she takes pride in competing on the floor. The showcase was a wide-open format, so there wasn't much post-play in the game. Parker stayed active throughout the showcase, bringing energy and effort while impacting the game with her physicality. She was pretty much double and triple-teamed throughout the event. She stood out around the rim, and once she got in the paint.     Mims elevated her profile with a standout performance during the state championship game, showing the ability to produce in pressure moments. She displayed strong footwork and versatility, impacting the game both on the perimeter and with her back to the basket. She runs the floor well, absorbs contact, and competes physically, while also bringing defensive presence. She can cover the three and the four, and in the State playoffs, she was even matched agaoinst a two. Mims drew significant attention from college coaches at the state tournament as well as at the showcase. With continued consistency and urgency, she is a player who will continue to generate more college interest.     Alexa showcased her ability to handle the ball and run the floor, using her length and presence to impact the game. The shooting guard displayed a nice shooting stroke and also ran the floor very well. Thitherington displayed a strong awareness and IQ. on the court. Her combination of size and skill allows her to operate effectively in space. Alexa's versatility was on display and she showed an ability to play the one and the two at the showcase.     Olivia brought a strong presence with her skill, composure, and consistency. She handles the ball well and plays with confidence, making solid decisions on the floor. She showed a smooth shooting motion and soft touch, with the ability to score and also set up teammates for scores. Her IQ and court awareness were impressive and college coaches were in the buildig to see the skillset.     Houston built on a strong season by stepping into the showcase with the goal of keeping her name and game in front of college coaches. She played with visible passion and energy throughout. Houston can shoot from the perimeter, attack the rim, handle the ball, and create opportunities Houston runs the floor well and stays active on both ends of the court. Her motor, versatility, and enthusiasm make her a player who continues to build momentum.     Crooks was probably one of the highest ranked seniors in the building and she definitely generated college interest. The back to back champion power forward displayed the versatility and IQ that define her game. She runs the floor well, can handle in transition, and makes smart decisions with the ball. She excels as a facilitator from the forward position, operating effectively at the free-throw line area and finding open teammates. Crooks plays well with her back to the basket, while also contributing with a mid-range game. Her versatility, quickness at the four position, and unselfish play allow her to impact the game in multiple ways, making her a valuable and versatile piece to someone's team.
