In today’s first edition, we look at some rising players to watch in Miami County, located in the northern Miami Valley. Nine schools reside in Miami County, and here is a look at some kids who could shine on the stage this season.
Natalie Moorman, 5-6 2021 Bethel
Everyone knows the scoring backcourt for the Bees with seniors Kenna Gray Kenna Gray 5'7" | CG Tipp City Bethel | 2021 State OH and Liv Reittinger. The player who could be the factor in the Bees success is another senior who has incredible athleticism, can score and her on-ball defense is solid. Natalie Moorman plays with a high motor with active hands. Causes issues on defense with her speed and quickness. Can put the ball on the floor and get to the rim. Scores in the paint and not afraid of contact. Her energy will be a factor for the Bees this winter.
Katie Hemmelgarn, 6-2 2021 Tippecanoe
Solid summer for Hemmelgarn as her game continues to improve. Plays well around the rim, can score with either hand. Can step out shortrange in the paint and can score over her defender. Her rebounding has really gotten better, she has good hands and makes things happen. Defends well, alters shots and moves well without the ball.
Erin Schenk, 5-7 2021 Troy Christian
She has rebounded from a major injury to become one of the better shooting guards in the area. She has unlimited range and can shoot off the dribble and spot up from the three-point range. Schenk will open eyes this year with her ability to score and play hard nosed defense.
Aubree Schrubb, 6-0 2022 Piqua
Her game has really improved a lot from a year ago. One of the strongest and consistent rebounders in the Miami Valley League. Good hands and moves well. Good smooth game, solid defender with great potential to see her game blossom her junior year.
Camryn Gleason, 5-7 2022 Newton
Her game has grown and she continues to see her game improve as she is one of the top guards in the county. Aggressive guard with good athleticism. Solid defender and plays with a high motor. Sees the floor well and can push the ball north-south. Good basketball IQ, can score from the perimeter and distributes the ball well.
