54.7 points scored, 38.4 points against
11 returning players

A year ago, Ankeny Centennial rode a tough defense to a Class 5A regional championship, coming up just short with a road loss to Cedar Falls. The Jaguars return 11 players from that team including starters [player_tooltip player_id="131272" first="Bella" last="Robben"], [player_tooltip player_id="129038" first="Elle" last="Street"], [player_tooltip player_id="131222" first="Jackie" last="Pippet"]t, Lizzie Strom and [player_tooltip player_id="129040" first="Cleao" last="Murray"]. Pippett and Murray started all 23 games, with Murray averaging 9.5 points and Pippett 8.4. They were both key rebounders for the Jaguars, who were equally strong on the offensive glass as the defensive one. Last year, eight different players averaged at least three points per game.

The going was definitely a tough one at Ankeny Christian last year. The Eagles failed to win a game and scored just 286 points as a team. However, the good news is they return nine of the 10 players who formed the varsity roster, giving them plenty of experience to work around. Sophomore Sarah Scott added 51 points. Seniors Leah Collins and Maddie Albrecht, along with sophomore Kassidy Quick are also back in the mix.
