The two scored 195 and 194 points respectively, with Bass doing it from deep with 17 made three-pointers. Betts shot nearly 35 percent from the field and over 70 percent from the free throw line. Senior Alexa Culbertson had a team-high 173 rebounds, with Bass adding 98 boards, 50 assists and 46 steals. Betts and Mia Leighty also had over 100 rebounds, with Leighty making a team-high 25 triples.

A large senior class led Council Bluffs Jefferson last year. The Yellow Jackets will look to the likes of [player_tooltip player_id="131214" first="Hannah" last="Belt"], Samara Alcarez and Natalie Clark to replace that experience. Belt scored 95 points with 54 rebounds, 29 steals and 10 assists, shooting 45 percent from the three-point line. Alcarez made nine starts as a freshman and played in all 22 games. As a collective team last year, Council Bluffs Jefferson made 109 three-pointers and recorded 278 steals.

Council Bluffs Lincoln was a win away from reaching the Class 5A state tournament last winter, falling to Johnston in a regional championship. The Lynx won 16 games and were runners-up in the Missouri River Conference to Sioux City Heelan, which would claim a state title in 3A. Several key members of that roster, though, have graduated. Council Bluffs Lincoln will lean on [player_tooltip player_id="165011" first="Jillian" last="Shanks"] and [player_tooltip player_id="164996" first="Kayla" last="Schleifman"], who are two returning starters. Shanks scored 248 points with 61 rebounds, 52 assists, 42 steals and 13 blocks, making a team-high 38 three-pointers. Schleifman added 170 points and a team-leading 150 rebounds with 42 blocks, 39 assists and 37 steals.
