Oregon Elite 17U Navy started things off their second day in Arizona matched up against EBC Elite as they looked to rebound from a tough day one. They won the tip and scored quickly off a Berry short shot at the rim and followed things with a Doutt lay-up. Starr found Bishop inside for a score followed by a Bishop find to Doutt. Lathrop began going thanks to a McClave board and find in addition to a Fulcher assist.
Hassmann found [player_tooltip player_id="158484" first="Maya" last="Hoff"] for a triple and an inbounds play to Berry made things 18 - 8 in favor of Oregon Elite. Two highlight plays came in the form of a Fulcher and-one followed by a spectacular Hope Hassmann euro-step that nearly ended in an and-one - but no call. At halftime it was Oregon Elite 26, EBC 13 with four scorers over 4 points - Lathrop with 7 and Berry, Doutt, and Fulcher tied at 4.
The second half featured significant Oregon Elite momentum as Berry found Doutt in the corner for a three and Bishop found Starr in the corner for another triple. Starr drove into the lane for a lay-up as Fulcher had an incredible up and under showing impressive footwork. Hassmann scored inside, Fulcher hit two free throws and on the next possession she found Lathrop for a short jumper. Hope Hasmann showed off her facilitation skills with assists that both led to threes - first to Hoff then to Starr.
Perhaps the most significant team was a Berry block, rebounded by Burns which she threw it full court to Doutt - who skipped it over to Starr, who converted a three point play. The last score for Oregon Elite was a similar play - on a Fulcher steal - fling to McClave who found Lathrop for a baby jumper. Oregon Elite coasted the entirety of the game - ending on a 61 - 25 victory in which they shared the wealth, distributing the ball all across the horizon.

Throughout the summer the formidable trio of Emi Bishop, [player_tooltip player_id="158479" first="Schuyler" last="Berry"], and [player_tooltip player_id="158478" first="Natalie" last="Lathrop"] patrolled the paint like none other, as the talented forwards all have unique games that they bring to the table. This game was no different as Berry was the rim protector, with 5 rebounds and 3b blocks - Bishop was handed out assists all over with a team high of 4 - and Lathrop was a significant scorer with 11 points. These three forwards have provided Oregon Elite 17U Navy with much stability and versatility inside the paint all summer long with such exemplary performances.
Scoring From All Corners
Putting the ball in the hoop was not a problem, as players such as Hope Hassmann and [player_tooltip player_id="158484" first="Maya" last="Hoff"] helped find players in their scoring positions but also didn’t shy away from scoring either. [player_tooltip player_id="158516" first="Danika" last="Starr"]’s efficient 10 points were the standard for the game, as she took what was open to her at the time and made the most out of her opportunities.
