On Day Two of Run 4 The Roses, Oregon Elite 17U Gold took on a WV Thunder team and enjoyed a 77 - 44 victory as they had four players score over 8 points. They certainly shared the wealth, as during the second half they had a significant surge that led to their overall success.
[player_tooltip player_id="158524" first="Lindsey" last="Wilson"] was active on the boards early, particularly on the offensive end as she scored 6 points on second chance attempts. Reese Ericson got busy early as she found O’Hollaren for a mid-range jumper and Dawkins for a baby jumper. Jayden Ray displayed her uncanny ability to get to the rim on a lay-up as [player_tooltip player_id="158512" first="Anna" last="Dazey"] began her reign from downtown as she hit her first three. Dawkins found Wilson in the paint for a score. Reese found Addie Reardon along the arc as she converted a fantastic four point play as she sank the triple while she was fouled.
The first half was a back and forth brawl as scores ranged from 12-13, 15-16, and 18-19. Lindsey had an and-one of her own as Reese Ericson decided to score herself off a lay-up. Reese found her Lakeridge teammate O’Hollaren for a lay-up and again as she pushed it from half court to Keelie on a baby jumper. Dazey hit a three from Prechel and on the next play Dazey hit a side step three as she showed that she can indeed hit it from deep. At the half, Oregon Elite led 39-31 as they were hitting on all cylinders.
This would continue in the second half, as Dawkins found Hueckman for a triple to start things off. Reese found Reardon for a three and then Dazey hit her third three. Dazey scored again in the mid-range area from Jayden Ray and on the next play Dazey made it rain again from three. Reardon found O’Hollaren for a mid-range jumper and then Wilson hit two free throws. Wilson continued her work on the offensive boards for a lay-in and Reese hit two free throws.
Perhaps the play of the game was a [player_tooltip player_id="158524" first="Lindsey" last="Wilson"] block that was retrieved by Ericson who threw it up to an open Reardon for a lay-up. You knew things were going well when [player_tooltip player_id="158507" first="Kilyn" last="Dawkins"] hit for two three-pointers. Jayden Ray also was a force on the boards as she grabbed a team high 8 rebounds. Oregon Elite takes this one in convincing fashion.

[player_tooltip player_id="158524" first="Lindsey" last="Wilson"]: Hard at Work
Wilson had a brilliant 11 points and 5 rebounds in which most of her rebounds were on the offensive end and all of her points were in a gritty, convincing fashion. Lindsey is a water polo player at Mountainside High School who is no stranger to hard work and high motor as she plays very much the same out on the hardwood. Someone who doesn’t need plays called for her as she creates for herself based on her hard work and merit and she had the block of the game that led to a lay-up on the other end.
Reese Ericson and Company
The Lakeridge connection was running on full parameters as they made plays for each other, as playing year round for the three certainly has its perks. They know each other’s tendencies and give up the ball in a jiffy to create opportunities all around. Reese Ericson played the lead role, as her court vision and precision was something to behold of as she dished out a game high 8 assists. Ericson/Rearon/O’Hollaren is a deadly trio, especially when they hit the court together, as they create favorable scenarios for everyone on the floor.
[player_tooltip player_id="158512" first="Anna" last="Dazey"] Strikes Again
Not to be forgotten, the Corvallis product played an uncharacteristic game in which she was the main shooter on offense, as she hit a ridiculous four out of seven from deep, including a sequence where she missed and received the pass again and hit another three. We know [player_tooltip player_id="158512" first="Anna" last="Dazey"] as the flying facilitator who is all over the court with her high motor and flurry, but those that were present were in for a treat. Dazey was absolutely magnificent on offense as she had 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists looking more like James Harden than her usual passing tendencies.
