While the traditional post player is becoming less popular in basketball, the class of 2021 still has some players who have shown an ability to dominate the post and be successful in doing so. All the players on this list are have shown the ability to bully others in the paint en route to scoring plenty of points and grabbing plenty of boards. And while their position may not be as popular as it once was, they are all still elite players thanks to these skills.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="88418" first="Marie" last="Kiefer"], Bishop Brossart- </strong>The most physically dominating of all players on this list, and perhaps of the whole state, Kiefer has the ability to take over the interior and stop the other team from doing anything productive around the basket. She scores, grabs all the rebounds she wants, and defends the extremely well. If there isn’t another physical presence to match up with her on the inside, Kiefer has the ability to take over an entire game.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="88425" first="Kelsie" last="Woodard"], Menifee County- </strong>The state’s top returning rebounder, Woodard is another physically dominant player who can take over a game from the paint. She is the definition of a bully inside, outsphysicalling anyone in her way en route to scoring points and grabbing rebounds. She is another player who needs a physical opponent to contain her at all.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="88419" first="Raigan" last="King"], Pineville- </strong>One of the benefits to being a traditional post player in today’s game is the ability to score with plenty of efficiency. While she doesn’t have an outside shot to speak of, she scores at will on the inside, putting the ball in the basket seemingly at will. She embodies the scoring ability wanted out of a top post player.
