The Class 1A 2022 Class looks to be a good one. [player_tooltip player_id="124090" first="Talaysia" last="Cooper"] is the cream of the crop here. Cooper and her East Clarendon HS Wolverines team moved down to Class 1A this season. Take a look here on some more players that standout in the Class 1A ranks from the 2022 Class. [player_tooltip player_id="124090" first="Talaysia" last="Cooper"] - East Clarendon HS (Turbeville) (pictured on the front) Cooper has been the best player on the floor for the most of her career wherever she goes. The Lady Wolverines will move down to Class 1A this coming season. Cooper has piled up numbers over the years and has scored 2,160 career points entering her junior season. Cooper can do it all on the floor with her ability to create her own offense. Cooper creates her own shot off the bounce or the dribble. Cooper manufactures ways to score the ball just as much on the defensive end of the floor. [player_tooltip player_id="171763" first="Ja’Niyah" last="Waters"] - Lake View HS Waters helped the Lady Wild Gators to a (19-4) season last year. Waters averaged 12 ppg and 4.1 rebounds last season. Waters a 3 year letter winner already on varsity starts her junior season with 750 career points. Waters brings great versatility to the floor with her ability to defend multiple positions. Waters has a nice mid-range game and really excels in transition. [player_tooltip player_id="175388" first="Taia" last="Gattis"] - Cross HS Gattis plays off the grid in Berkeley County. Gattis a versatile forward also excels on the volleyball court. Gattis runs the floor very well and moves well without the ball. Gattis has a soft touch around the rim and can face-up from mid-range game. Gattis will be the crafty veteran on this Lady Trojans team this season. Gattis was a All-State Performer last season. [player_tooltip player_id="175389" first="Anija" last="Jones"] - Denmark-Olar HS Jones made the move over to the Lady Vikings this year after attending Aiken HS the past few seasons. Jones averaged just under 11 ppg last season for the Fighting Green Hornets. Jones has a nice mid-range game and can extend it out to the 3 point line. [player_tooltip player_id="171761" first="Adiyah" last="Owens"] - High Point Academy (Spartanburg) Owens helped High Point Academy win a Class 1A State Championship last season. Owens a point guard is the leader of the Grizzlies offense. Owens is a pesky defender and has quick hands in the passing lanes. Owens averaged 12.9 ppg last season while shooting 37% (45-123) from three point range. Can High Point Academy repeat this coming season ? [player_tooltip player_id="171764" first="Zan’Dasia" last="McNeil"] - Lake View HS McNeil gives the Lady Wild Gators more experience in the back court. McNeil plays the game with a great motor and is extremely active away from the ball. McNeil averaged 7.2 ppg, 4.3 rebounds and 3.9 steals last season for the her squad. McNeil is great in the open court and really excels in that part of the game. McNeil gets a bit passive to shoot on the perimeter at times and feels most comfortable attacking the basket. [player_tooltip player_id="171758" first="Kynew" last="Barnwell"] - Whale Branch HS Barnwell is a tiny point guard but really can stroke the ball from downtown. Barnwell plays the game very under control at all times. Barnwell has the ability to utilize the floater in the lane for the Lady Warriors. Don’t let the size scare you she is a player. [player_tooltip player_id="174562" first="Mikenzie" last="Kinard"] - Ridge Spring-Monetta HS Kinard is a space eater in the paint for the Lady Trojans and legendary Head Coach Gail Johnson. Kinard keeps the ball up high after rebounding it in the low post. Kinard averaged 7.8 ppg and 9 rebounds last season. Kinard will play the game on contact and with her back to the basket. Kinard still must develop a solid post move for the future. [player_tooltip player_id="218861" first="Shy’an" last="Cokley"] - Calhoun County HS (St Matthews) Cokley is back to lead the Lady Saints this season in the Class 1A ranks. Cokley averaged 9.1 ppg last year. [player_tooltip player_id="171759" first="Jakiah" last="Wilson"] - Bamberg-Ehrhardt HS
