While the Junior class is a solid one, we are always looking for that lower ranked player who could break out in a big way soon. Here’s a look at some of the players who could end up much higher at the next update.
[player_tooltip player_id="106139" first="Tyra" last="Flowers"], George Rogers Clark - Flowers is partly a victim of being on such a loaded team so she doesn’t always get the individual shine she would at a school where she would be the lone offensive option. Part of a talented and relatively young core for GRC, Tyra is going to have a shot to win the regional title every year she’s in high school and could be on the verge of a bigger statistical season than she had last season thanks to more shots being available.
[player_tooltip player_id="106149" first="Amaya" last="Curry"], Apollo - Western Kentucky doesn’t get nearly as much love from college coaches as it should but Curry is skilled and athletic and has already earned at least one scholarship offer that we know of. She can score the ball all over the floor and should be in position to be a bigger factor in the 3rd region this season after being more of a role player for the E-Gals last season.
[player_tooltip player_id="157956" first="Chloe" last="Treece"], Lexington Catholic - Chloe was the leading scorer for Lexington Catholic but now would be a good time to buy some stock in the talented guard. She’s skilled and a better shooter than her stats from last season show. If she can improve her shooting numbers from last season, Treece will be a 15-18 point per game scorer next season.
[player_tooltip player_id="106157" first="Hanna" last="Robinson"], Grant County - Robinson showed a ton of promise last season and is going to be the go-to scorer for Grant this season after being the second option last season. Hanna should look to attack the basket more as she is an excellent free throw shooter but didn’t get to the basket nearly enough last season. That should change this year.
[player_tooltip player_id="206002" first="Briontanay" last="Marshall"], Central - The oldest adage in the book is "you can’t teach size" and Marshall has that already along with a growing skill set and a good motor. As a Sophomore, she averaged 6 points and 6 rebounds per game and could be a double-double threat this season as she continues to improve her overall skills, especially on the offensive end.
