Although we have not ranked the girls in the 2024 class yet - we have assembled a watch-list, based off of off-season events. This list is far from complete, but we do want to discuss some of the many outstanding young players in Ohio, right now.
[player_tooltip player_id="217351" first="Addesa" last="Miller"] - 5’7 Guard - Dalton
Dalton – a district champion the past 4 years – lost some outstanding guards with the graduation of last year’s seniors….just in time for [player_tooltip player_id="217351" first="Addesa" last="Miller"] to take on a big role during her freshman season. Miller plays with a love of the game that is great to see. She is constantly competing and playing hard – whether it be defensively, pressuring the basketball – or offensively, leading her team and creating scoring opportunities for herself and her teammates.
[player_tooltip player_id="217350" first="Keegan" last="Uhl"] - 5’6 Guard - West Holmes
Keegan has an explosive first step – blowing by defenders who come out to pressure her. She is effective as a finisher with both hands at the rim and has the strength to play through contact. Uhl is a very good defender – who uses a high IQ and good strength to keep good perimeter players in front of her – while also reading passing lanes to get steals and lead the fast break.
[player_tooltip player_id="217334" first="Sophia" last="Spangler"] - 5’7 Guard - Big Walnut
Spangler has an offensive toolbox full of moves that many girls her age do not have. She uses a variety of head fakes, step throughs and wrong-foot finishes to get the ball up to the rim – unorthodox and effective. She has tremendous potential as a lead guard. Her teammates enjoy playing with her – she makes everyone around her better. Sophia is a very effective jump shooter – with her feet set and off of the dribble.
[player_tooltip player_id="217335" first="Teagan" last="Ng"] - 5’10 Wing - Big Walnut
Ng is a wing with good size and unlimited potential. She has the length to play on the block against smaller defenders – while also stepping out and going around others from the perimeter. A solid rebounder, Teagan is also able to use that length to block shots and manufacture turnovers and runouts for her team.
[player_tooltip player_id="217349" first="Elly" last="Lewis"] - 5’6 Guard - Fairfield Union
Lewis is a silky-smooth combo guard with great handles and an outstanding jump shot to match them. She has a quick release – whether it be with her feet set or on the move – she is deadly as a scorer. Elly is a solid defender on the perimeter – playing with active hands and a high IQ that routinely puts her in the right spots to get stops.
